If you like the guy but you don't think you're compatible, then I would say don't settle so easily. It's important to make sure you're compatible in this case, especially if you want to get married and all that. I know the feeling of wanting to get something done, but don't rush it. I always thought I wanted to be married by 25, I'm 24 and i don't even have a gf. I understand if you're paranoid, but just think that it doesn't always have to be the same. Trust me in that, I had a bad thing happen last year, I was one of the many who got cheated on while deployed to Iraq. Don't settle, don't rush it either, and if your gut is telling you not to, then there's a reason for you to feel that way...

Seems like that little voice in your head is smarter than your heart..I suggest that you listen to it wisely.

Always seek someone who is equal with you - as they say, someone who is "equally yoked" in most things. When people are not balanced with their personalities, goals, morals, socially, then problems can begin to develope.

You said it yourself - you're still trying to heal from a former relationship. You need to give yourself time, lots of it - at least 2 years by most articles I have read...a past relationship can take 2 yrs to heal - like a death.

So, I would suggest that you NEVER settle. You need to sit down with yourself and put down some major goals for yourself, and ideals that this guy needs to be like. Put in a little prayer, ask for a sign, and you are on your way.

In the meantime, just keep things light with this guy and allow this friendship to slip away, if that ends up being it's natural course...

Liberals are more accepting... I don't know why youre worried. The South is like 10 times worse on racism than the north. And youre saying that "in liberal areas, most hispanics and asians are close minded?" Theres a reason liberals are called "Open minded". I have lived in Texas, and it feels a lot more unaccepting than the north.

I would be happy to go to the north if you're scared about close minded people, i dont know what you are talking about.

I am an artist too!! If I were you I would leave out the "liberal" part. Political views are a touchy point with some people (though liberals are the only normal people there are LOL). Also you may want to leave out the "daughter is my world" part since some people may think that leaves no space for them.

I had been on a dating site some time back and my heading was "Looking for next ex husband"....I followed that up with "I am looking for a real loser. Aferall, I would not want to break my pattern." then I continued on a bitter rant. LOL It got thousands of replies from people thanking me for the laugh. A little humor never hurts. :)

Yeah, Washington state sucks with all the hippies and anti government/military people. Im having the same trouble with women. I cant wait until I PCS to another post.

Tried the online dating briefly, total failure.

All's I can see is keep looking, you shouldnt have to change who you are but sometimes you have to compromise.
