HELP! Which region did the British win after fighting Portugal?

We Answered:

treaty of Paris

Not just Newfoundland but the whole of French Canada

The British and the Portuguese have been allies since the mid 1300s so this question is invalid - none of those terrotories were known the last time the 2 countries fought

political

Labour Party

walpole

walpole died 15 years before George III came to the throne - another question with no answer!!!

and the last one is none of these - he didn't disband parliament, he didn't restore power to the king, during his reign britain lost the american colonies and walpole was dead long before he came to the throne

a set of questions suggesting a poor knowledge of history by the person who devised them

Are our main political parties(Democrat and Republican) right-wing compared to the rest of the world?

We Answered:

Both parties, with few exceptions (the libertarian wing of REAL republicans) are very very far to the left.

Billie Said:

Are all the US Military Personel Republicans? What will happen when the Democrats Win ?

We Answered:

I'm sure they're more representative of their population as a whole than anything - one large proportion of them vote Democrat, one large proportion of them vote Republican, and a very significant proportion of them have no political affliation.

Most soldiers seem to hate the ALP with a passion, but I like to think I'm the latter - in the last election, I voted for the ALP because the Liberal candidate couldn't debate his points well enough. In the state election, I voted Liberal because I thought the ALP candidate was an idiot.

Elections are dependent on which candidate can sway the most neutral voters, not on which party has the most supporters. If a particularly hard-set soldier's desired party loses, chances are they'll shrug their shoulders, try not to seem like a sore loser and get on with their lives.

Question about Australian politics?

We Answered:

Yeah the name can be confusing to anyone outside of Australia.

I think, historically, it's because the other side represented the trade unions and Labor movement (hence the name Labor Party); so (at least when it formed in 1945) the main defining feature of the Liberal party was its support of free enterprise and lack of union intervention, so it was "liberal" in the sense of supporting free enterprise.
