Questions on Liberal Democrats?

We Answered:

As a non supporter my understanding is :-
1. Lib Dems are the most pro EU of the UK Parties.
2. Lib Dems consider government not doing enough to tackle crime
3. Lib Dems more left than other parties Their MPs were unanimously opposed to war against Iraq and against UK troops being in Afghanistan.
4. Lib-Dems are on record as believing immigration into Britain is very beneficial to UK population and there should be better human rights for immigrants and asylum seekers.
5. Lib-Dems want tax cuts for middle and low income earners so, they do not want so much spent on education as currently.

.But if you want more info check

Thelma Said:

The Lib Dem's Immigration amnesty?

We Answered:

My view is that the Liberal Democrats have had the guts to face the problem head-on.

Who let things get the way they are now? Not them, but Labour and the Conservatives before them, when they abolished exit controls - exit controls which the Liberal Democrats plan to re-impose.

And haven't you heard of the 14-year rule? This legalises illegal immigrants - but with no penalties, and has applied for 20 years.

So yes,I think illegals would prefer to come clean under the proposed one-time amnesty because they'd be a lot better off,and so would the services they're now using without paying tax.

It's not perfect, but it beats the hell out of Labour and Tory unwillingness to face facts.

Eduardo Said:

Why is that Republicans/Conservatives and Democrats/Liberals often resort to name calling?

We Answered:

I don't think there's much hope with this administration. Between Bush's rubber-stamp and a loyal Republican stance, we're not getting much passed through Congress.

I really don't mean that as a slam. But a veto does override everything when there aren't enough opposition votes to stand up against it.

All the name-calling and stereotyping on here certainly doesn't help though either- it just makes people even angrier.

Hazel Said:

How do the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat view of immigration vary?

We Answered:

Have you tried looking at their respective websites? That would be the most accurate and up-to-date representation of their policies rather than peoples opinions of what they are.
