Rick Said:
(Australia) Why are you people being tricked by the Liberal Party again? We Answered:
The Liberal's focus on 'economics' is nothing more than a conjuror's misdirection on stage. The economy is probably strong because of a resources boom in spite of Mr Costello's imagined worthy bows to public applause. On the other hand, average Australians are seriously into debt with mortgages and credit cards to 'make ends meet'.How long will the Liberals keep harping back to the 17% interest rates under Keating? Mortgage repayments were much smaller back then. Is the comparison really still valid when wages, mortgages and interest rates are accounted for proportionately?
Phyllis Said:
Howard Government Left or Right wing?We Answered:
Liberal is actually the right-wing party in Australia, and the Labor party is left-wing. The reason why the liberal party is called 'liberal' i think is because of the freedom in terms of less governance and less influence, but they are definetly right-wing.Tonya Said:
How did the economic crisis negatively impact the Republicans in the US election? We Answered:
During George Bush's 2nd term, it seems as though everything went topsy-turvy. The Republican Administration bought up the Banks - something no Republican would ever do - more money is being spent than ever before due to the War, etc.Traditional Republicans are disgusted by what's been going on.
Holly Said:
It seems like all republican supporters are afraid of Obama and the democrats because of 'communism'?We Answered:
I have a very firm understanding of what socialism and communism is. My experience in government, education, and extensive reading has made it clear to me.Obama is called a socialist based on his own comments and actions. Additionally, raising taxes is a big deal for some, especially conservatives, and the raising of taxes must be put under the category of socialism, not capitalism, if it's a choice between the two.
Obama does not deserve to be called a communist. Socialist, yes, but not communist.
Kimberly Said:
Why does Australia not have a political party capable of instituting a progressive agenda? We Answered:
I'm not actually sure what you mean...this seems more like a political statement than an actual question. In many respects, the Australian Labor Party is progressive. You would have to be more specific about the 'conservatism of their own leaders' to answer that. To find out more about the Labor party's agenda and policy, go to www.alp.org.au or www.nswalp.com
As well as the ALP, however, there are a number of other parties, such as the Greens and the Democrats, who are perceived to have a
progressive agenda.
Hope this answers your 'question' :D
Stacy Said:
Are Canada and Australia joining the revolt against Prince Philip's genocide policy? We Answered:
George Monbiot is always good for a chuckle. Liberal extremists usually are. If the Copenhagen Treaty fails because Canada refuses to join in, then so be it. And everyone should expect this to be the case.
