Liberal Party Policies

Reginald Said:

what is the major difference between australian labor party and liberal party?Is it key policies and leader?

We Answered:

The spelling and the amount of lies they can get away with.

Floyd Said:

Has the Australian Liberal Party got enough new policies to form a government 3 years after leaving office?

We Answered:

In some ways, I'm thankful that the Howard Government lost the election in 2007 because it did give them some time to re-group, come up with a new direction and sort out the subsequent leadership challenges (I'm not a fan of Malcolm Turnbull at all).

I've found that there are now a number of strong policies the coalition has, leading into this election and many more being released each day. The link below outlines the Action Contract of a Liberal Government. From what I've witnessed, it's actually the Labor government who seems to be stalling a bit on their their policies - including the "greatest moral challenge of our time" missing key components of a climate change policy, instead leaving it up to a citizen forum to decide for 12 months after the election. I prefer the Liberals' "Direct Action Plan" on climate change anyway, because placing any more pressure on Australian families purses and wallets (like Labors ETS) is unacceptable in my view.

I do see your point though, beyond a few key policies - even their website specifies Liberal key goals in government is;

* End the waste
* Repay the debt
* Stop the taxes
* Stop the boats

It almost sounds like an echo of previous election campaigns. But I do want to see a strong opposition that holds the government accountable, and I can see Tony Abbott in particular being very effective at this. The latest Galaxy poll has Labor and Liberal at 50% of the primary vote, so they can't be doing too badly then. I've also heard that there might be a protest vote against Labor in QLD with the way that Julia Gillard and Labor handled the dumping of former PM Kevin Rudd. If anything, I can almost see an element of "me-too'ism" happening with many Labor policies taken (at least in part) from the policies announced by Tony Abbott - including the boat-people "processing centre" options.

Franklin Said:

Liberal Party / National Party Policies Costings?

We Answered:

Interesting question that one, knowing their recent history we can all bet which one it will be.
Remember the "never, ever, ever will there be a GST"!; well that's now been replaced with the "Workchoices is dead and buried" promise (with out the guarantee that it won't be back Mk II under a different name)

Lois Said:

Will the Congress party pursue the neo liberal economic policies,failed in the USA and Europe? read details?

We Answered:

Yes. That's what I fear. I agree

Dorothy Said:

What UK political party have the most liberal gun policies?

We Answered:

BNP probably.

All the main parties are anti-guns. Gun owners are a minority in this country unfortunately, so there is no reason for any of the parties to support them.

Ramona Said:
