God is neither, or, looked at another way, both. God is liberal with His grace and love, is advocate for the orphan and the widow, stands against the proud and lifts up the lowly. God also sees man as essentially good (otherwise, God would not have made man)--so good in fact that man was worth dying for. God does not judge a man's value on the basis of his relationship to the market. God demands that force be used only when absolutely necessary, and then only so much as is required to eliminate an imminent danger.

However, God is conservative in His defense of His children, and in His passion to see all things come to right. He will go to war if that is what it takes to keep his promise to even one of his faithful friends. He demands personal responsibility, and calls all who are able to labor to do so for the sake of good. He will eventually segregate all evil away from the rest of his universe, and will do so without sentimentality. He does not change and will not change, because by nature *cannot* change. Because of this, fad moralities never hold sway over him. Pax!

Thomas Jefferson was a man of deep religious conviction — his conviction was that religion was a very personal matter, one which the government had no business getting involved in.

Separation of church and state is part of the US Constitution.

Good luck in them attempting to change that one. Sorry but I think their "ungodly" premise is frivolous.
