Liberal Tony Abbott

Vernon Said:

Who should i vote for in the upcoming Australian election for prime minister?

We Answered:

If you can truly vote "for" somebody consider yourself lucky. I have been able only to vote "against" somebody for several years now. Voting for is much better than voting against.

Richard Said:

who should i vote for in the upcoming Australian election for prime minister?

We Answered:

You should vote for the person who's stances align with yours.

Vote for the one who's vision for your country lines up with the vision you see for your country.

Jo Said:

Will Tony Abbott, move a motion of no confidence in the Gillard Labor Government during the next sitting?

We Answered:

Given that the motion would certainly fail, the effect would only be to make Tony Abbott appear childish and uncooperative.

I'm sure he does want to be disruptive, but if he tries a motion of no confidence right now he would just embarrass himself. If he really wants to destabilise Julia, he should play along with her newfound spirit of cooperation. The ALP only have a guaranteed 76 on supply and confidence. And, at the independents' behest, they're putting in place new procedures to facilitate private members' bills. If the Coalition put forward their own policies and manage to get the support of the independents on those policies then it will blur the line between government and opposition. That's obviously not a good look for Labor.

Randall Said:

Will Tony Abbott be able to make personal decisions about stopping individual boats or will he have to consult?

We Answered:

I guess the answer to your specific question is that it will depend on the deal his government makes with each independent and the Green. It was always completely unrealistic for him to make a personal decision - requiring consultation won't actually change much. If a policy is completely unworkable, it's unworkable regardless of how many heads are involved.

What people don't seem to realise, is that neither he, nor anyone else will be able to turn boats back. Whenever that has been tried (or feared) in the past, the boat has been scuttled or set on fire with a resultant loss of life and/or severe injuries to the passengers and crew and great risk to the Australians who have to rescue them. With boats arriving under a stated government policy of turning boats back, it's guaranteed that they will be booby trapped before they even get to our waters to make it easy for them to be scuttled rather than turned around.

Kurt Said:

Should Tony Abbott be forced to resign over using public money ? (aussie politics) .?

We Answered:

He'll still get up and smear the other side for doing the same ...

Much as I hate to say i, I think the Libs have finally found their perfect leader ~ sanctimonious, hidden agenda, hypocrite, liar.

He's a perfect fit.

Poor old country, eh.

Cheers :-)
