I think the main issue is that folks have the wrong impression of Liberation Theology... The plain truth is that all "black churches" teach liberation theology at some level.... And it has nothing to do with hate, but everything to do with helping each other survive. Unity, taking charge of your life, freeing you own mental bonds, etc.... That sort of thing.

In context of the Bible: Slavery is allowed under reasonable circumstances - no outright abuse of slaves. I think slavery is explained in Exodus if not Leviticus. However, I don't remember reading anything declairing slavery is based from skin color or race. However, ceiling cat's comment indicates otherwise.

In context of reality: If you think your God wishes the destruction of the white race and favors the black race, I think you need to take a step back. Then smash your head against the wall and hope to regain rational thought.

1.) AIDS in Africa is a epidemic.There are a 20% infected rate in some states.
2.) There are many areas where children are starving - Somolia for example.
3.) There are military renoguades. Watching videos of african mothers with their arms chopped off is the saddest clip I have ever seen.
4.) The African people have been fighting for their rights for how long in the US?
5.) The African-American population in America earn a significantly lower income, a higher percentage of inmates in relationship to black population ... ect.

Now, I'm not saying other races are better. (I am for the growth and harmony of an human - race, culture, nationality,......) I'm not happy about his information. But in this light, where is there indication that a diety wishes to liberate blacks? Don't get me wrong, all races have had their hardships - and I don't believe that any god had any hand in it.

But honesty, it is an unrealistic theology to bring anger and unnecessary distruction in the name of a god.

black liberation theology was founded by James Cone in the sixties. he blended Christianity with the Nation of Islam's teachings. this is a puedo-christian religion with an Afrocentric basis. rather than bring unity to christians, it teaches that the black man is favored and has the only true religion.

In 1991, when Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, he pledged allegiance to something called the Black Value System, which is a code of non-Biblical ethics written by blacks, for blacks. It encourages blacks to group together and separate from the larger American society by pooling their money, patronizing black-only businesses and backing black leaders. Such racial separatism is strangely at odds with the media's portrayal of Obama as a uniter who reaches across races. The code also warns blacks to avoid the white ‘entrapment of black middle-classness,’ suggesting that settling for that kind of ‘competitive’ success will rob blacks of their African identity and keep them ‘captive’ to white culture.
