UK: The Liberal Democrats seem to be in a quandary re student loans. Isn't the allocation of blame is easy?We Answered:
I agree with you on your question and your own answer to it you gave. Problem is though that he really should resign as the Leader of the lib/dems and the same for the rest of them who have effectively joined the Tory party. When you get people to vote for you and make a pledge that if you are elected and become one of the leaders in government you will do something then you have to do just that. Everyone knows political party's lie in their manifestos and have no intention of keeping to them. A signed pledge otherwise known as a promise can be considered a contract and in fact it is a legal and binding one. Seems politicians haven't changed much. Still make their own rules so they can break the law and get away with it and the rest of us can't do that.@John D. Why should the students compromise? The people enforcing the new rules to make them pay 3 times as much in fees got theirs for free. Are they going to pay that money back? Doubt it. Another case of rules for them and rules for the rest of us. Spivs and Charlatans always work that way don't you agree.

The Liberal Democrats have betrayed all of those who voted for them ...?We Answered:
The Lib Dems have always been an untrustworthy lot and are notorious for tailoring their policies to suit whichever constuency they are courting. They did the same thing when they were negotiating a deal with the Tories by sneaking off to try and do a deal with Gordie. The lure of power has been too much for them and they are wallowing in their new found status, which they would never have found on their own. It;s the sort of behaviour that makes politics stink.
As for the Budget, I just don't know, suck it and see I suppose is the answer. I hope it works because if I have to suffer at least I want good results at the end of the pain.
