Policies Of Liberal Party

Stacy Said:

What are the most liberal parties in UK Parliament and what type of policies do they believe in?

We Answered:

Here are the three biggest parties. They all have pretty comprehensive websites.

Conservatives (Tories). Most conservative, still pretty far left leaning by American standards. They want to privatize things, mostly the post office. Probably going to win next general election.

Labour. In power, socialist. A little more concerned about your day to day life than they probably ought to be. Probably won't win the next general election considering Brown/Blair/Smith's unpopularity.

Liberal Democrats. Left of center/libertarian-ish.

As far as brushing up on UK politics, here's my advice:

Podcasts.

They are your friend and they are free. The BBC releases plenty of political podcasts, many of which include recordings of the debates in Westminster. You can get the audio of Prime Ministers questions streaming for free from the BBC website.

Some to look for:
Today in Parliament (daily)
The Parliament Podcast (occassional updates)
Law in Action (every Wednesday during terms)
The Weekly Political Review (weekly)

Chester Said:

Is this a good example of Liberal Policies in action?

We Answered:

Excellent question, take a star.

Crime, corruption, greed, envy, promiscuity, drugs, hopelessness, illiteracy, are all symptoms of liberal policies. Wherever these things are "changing" for the worse, liberals are at work.

There is a concept known in economics: The Law of Unintended Consequences. It states, when government makes unnatural changes in any economic structure, it sets in motion forces which usually are the opposite of the intent of those changes. In other words. When you want change, you must use force. When you use force, things break.

Each and every thing you mentioned, was fueled by using immoral methods to achieve liberal policies of good intentions. Trying to help the poor by stealing tax money from the rich, makes the rich move out. Making children not feel like failures by dumbing down education makes children learn laziness. Employers who don't move away won't hire them. Teach children they are victims of their skin color and they are trapped in a sort of racial envy from which escape is near impossible. Teach children they have no hope and they steal for a living. Government unions who get politicians elected no longer have to serve the public if they don't want to, so infrastructure crumbles and garbage piles up. Pay young women to have children out of wedlock and you get more children out of wedlock. It doesn't help the mother, the father or the child. The child learns immorality and promiscuous behavior from the mother and the daddy-du-Jour whom she happens to be shacking up with at the moment. The real father has no chance of making something of himself or going to University, because the mother sues him for child support if he does.

All this evil is born on the road paved with good intentions. In short, God is teaching us we cannot achieve good ends by the application of immoral means. Policies born of good intentions are fine but, if we use immoral ends to achieve them the results we breed, are evil.

Diana Said:

Where are the coalitions real policies for the future and can they be assured after a leadership change?

We Answered:

Howard is a reationary policy maker, a mostly "stand for nothing" position that lets him gauge public opinion and make a clear, popular decision.

His party however is losing its conservative values and replacing its policies with neo-conservative mantras, particularly economic and (mono)cultural. The mining boom can't sustain us forever and history shows that the Libs rely on it.

Lewis Said:

Australian Liberal Party and Labor Party Question?

We Answered:

The Labor party does, because Australia and China are neighbours and is one of Australia's strongest business and trading partners, being that Australia is part of the Oceania Australasia pacific region.

John Howard tried to bring Americanism to Australia with work choices and many other bills which the Australian public rejected, we all know where that landed him and the Liberal Party.

Mary Said:

When did the term "liberal" become a term to describe those who are a left winged democrat?

We Answered:

The dictionary definition for Liberal actually refers to Libertarianism. Most dictionaries don't keep up with political words such as this, so the definitions are dated. Consider yourself a Libertarian or, if you wish, a 'Classical' Liberal. Here's some more information:

Edith Said:

Liberal party refusal on Costings of Policy's for the Independents?

We Answered:

Malcolm Fraser did say that the Liberals and Nationals were not ready to govern and needed another term to get their policies together. I recon when Julia Gillard took over the Labor party and suddenly called an election in August - there would most likely not have been an election until late October early November if Kevin Rudd had remained PM - then Abbott got caught off guard with few properly priced polices. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national…

He certainly wasn't going to hand the coalition policies over to the Treasury for costing and still won't give them to the Independents. This is starting to look as though he bluffed his way and the Liberal Party's way through the election. Now that they are in a position where they have to show their hand, they are not prepared to deal a clean hand. This is a real worry for democracy and forming a stable government as Labor is the only party willing to show costed policies but does not display a lot of internal stability because of its factional infighting.

It would have paid Abbott to have all of his policies ready and properly costed. However, this apparently a perennial problem with the Liberals. It has been costly for them. They have lost the Victorian, South Australian and Tasmanian state elections because their policies were not properly prepared and costed. Malcolm Fraser also thought that Tony Abbott was not ready to lead the country. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national…

Apparently Tony Abbott has got John Howard's' old Chief Sinodonis to advise the Independents on his point of view about forming a Liberal National minority government supported by the Independents.

We wait and see.
