trib is currently owned by the MediaNews Group, based in denver. it started as part of a movement to oppose the political and economic policies of the LDS church. william godbe, elias L.T. harrison, edward w. tullidge, and william shearman joined to publish the trib (the mormon trib I think it was called - about 1870+-) after the deseret news urged people (specifically church members) to boycott their utah magazine.

thomas kearns, in partnership with david keith eventually bought it up. they had prospered thru mining interests and kearns had been elected to the U.S. Senate in 1900. the kearns family owned it almost 100 years, before selling it it's current owners.

between these two owners - it was owned by three men out of kansas - they consistently backed the liberal party and became known as very anti-mormon - (hated BY).

currently they had filed for bankruptcy, (after a bad leak in the elizabeth smart story and a bad /unpopular change of location) but I never heard how that turned out.

Are we going to be forced to subscribe to them too? These papers are failing because no one wants to read the garbage they write in them. We might as well just start throwing money into the wind. When will this end? We the people have to stand up for ourselves.

Where is the outrage from congress about the big bonuses paid to media executives? I am enjoying seeing them squirm. People will pay to read what interests them. The major Media no longer reports the news or investigates the news stories, They make the news and support their political agendas. Congress will bail them out only because they are the Propaganda Arm of the DNC.
