The main issue during this campaign was the economy, as Canada was still in the grips of the Great Depression. Mackenzie King's platform was based on relief measures to help the economy.

During this term, Mackenzie King enacted relief programs including the National Employment Commission and the National Housing Act. He also Created the CBC, the NFB and Trans-Canada Airlines. He also took the Bank of Canada out of private hands by making it a crown corporation.

I feel Canada is rapidly becoming a two-party State. It began with the Conservatives and Reform uniting on the right.

Now the left will get together.

Eventually the Bloc will either give up or succeed.

Green Party/Rhino Party/Christian Heritage are all joke parties that will never amount to much.
