The Week Magazine Conservative Or Liberal

Brenda Said:

Will Mormons concerned with compassion for the poor boycott Glen Beck?

We Answered:

Yea well according to Glen Beck, I am part of Obama's secret Army. I am an Americorps VISTA member and Glen Beck seems to think I am a SS member and when the time is right, we're going to take over the country. Well something like that.

Glen Beck's ranting gets old after awhile. I wouldn't even mess with it, except that it bugs me that people take this BS literally. And yes, I am Mormon. So no, I don't take Glen Beck seriously. But I am concerned that people do take this stuff seriously. And it does kind of bother me that people associate Beck's eccentricities with his religious faith, but it is to be noted that Beck doesn't represent the whole of Mormon membership. As Mormon membership is pretty much a diverse segment.

Elizabeth Said:

Republicans aren't allowed to agree with Obama, says the other Republicans....?

We Answered:

I also notice that their are always other reasons too. They just happen to show up after someone agrees with the democrats. Agreeing is apparently the final straw.

Arthur Said:

Is the magazine 'The Atlantic' considered a conservative or a liberal publication?

We Answered:

Liberal publications exclude what corporate conglomerates publish (that faithfully reproduce the lies of conservative administrations) but include such magazines as The Nation, Mother Jones, Extra, Church and State, The Progressive, The American Prospect, and In These Times. Most of the rest are mainstream media, which is what reactionaries like to call "liberal" media just because they don't always print right-wing opinions.

Morris Said:

Does "This Week" magazine have a liberal or conservative slant?

We Answered:

I subscribed for a couple of years. It only reprints paragraphs and items from a variety of sources. There is very little original material in it. The editors seem to be pretty good about doing a balancing act, as far as I could tell.

My problem was that some of the material seemed dated by the time it arrived in my mailbox. The news was several days old, and I just wasn't too interested in reading it by that point. So I let it lapse.

Alicia Said:

Is Time Magazine a liberal or conservative publication?

We Answered:

I think Time tries to be a news magazine without a political agenda (liberal or conservative) However, people tend to view media through their own political lense -- so if you're conservative and distrustful of media, you may only notice "liberal" leaning stories in Time, and the same for Liberal readers who think that the media slants towards conservatives.
