Liberalization of economics is not a requirement at any time, or in any country at all. Why would immigration in this country need to be liberalized at all in fact. And in fact, our immigration policy needs to be something far, far closer to zero until we get clean water and working sewers.

Per the aging.. there will be more aging than youth in this country for a while, but that spirals downward very quickly regardless of the length of life. Further, Congress has borrowed from the Social Security Fund over, and over, and over again, and changed the law so that those funds could be used forever. It is a mark of legalized corruption that those funds probably won't ever be used for the purpose they were collected... Social Security. But when that legalized corruption is controlled, and the 'black Bart loans' are not made to congress anymore, the old folks will pay their own way to a large extent, and Medicare will become viable again.

Medicaid is extended to individuals by the States. That program has to be terminated and the States need to find a better way to control the problems that lead to excessive use of those funds. That clearly means a very serious effort at birth control at the welfare level.. it can be done, and should have been done before the Medicaid was used to get the problems off the local politicians backs and plop it on the backs of the American People.

So.. we need to stop immigration for a while. Not open it up. Further, if you go to http://www.cis.org, or to http://www.fairus.org, you will discover Immigration is a way to bring people into this country that wind up collecting welfare for most of their later time in this country. Another cold blooded lie from Congress by the way, is that they are a benefit.

In every other context in the Middle East, liberalization is allowing more freedom of speech and other human rights, and democratization is what it sounds like.

It's not a way to improve competitiveness at all. It's a way for local companies to increase profit margins by importing cheaper inferior quality crap made in a Chinese sweat shop. It also causes an increase in foreign debt which isn't a good thing and it also costs local jobs.
