First, I must stress the disclaimer that I'm not an expert on the Jewish community. I know SOME things, but not a lot. But one thing I know gives me an idea to answer this question.

I've heard many times before that Jews tend to help each other a lot. They tend to be a very tight-knit community. They pool their money together, help other families, go into joint business ventures with their friends and families, and truly work to uplift their entire selves...everyone in their community.

Based on ideology, I truly feel that the same is the underlying mission, concept, mission, purpose, etc. of the Democratic Party (the Republican Party seems to be for "big business", "every man for himself", "work to get what you want", "only the strong will survive", etc.).

So...

I'd assume they vote that way because they are more aligned with the Democratic Party's values and tendencies.

As a Jewish conservative, I have read a great deal about how what is called "liberalism" has come to predominate among my coreligionists. For anyone who would want to read in detail about it, I don't believe that there is any better source than the book mentioned at the beginning of the symposium: "Why Are Jews Liberals?" by Norman Podhoretz.

I would conclude on this note: If I was convinced that Judaism and "liberalism" were pretty much identical (which seems to be a common theme among anti-Semites of a neo-fascist or radical Islamist type and all too many of my "liberal" coreligionists), I would not remain Jewish. I am convinced beyond all doubt that there is simply too much countervailing evidence within Judaism itself for that particular notion to withstand serious scrutiny.

I asked a Jew once, and they said that their religion encourages them to be inquisitive and try things and that's why they tend to be Democrat. I brought up the Israel thing too, and she looked like a deer in the headlights. She didn't have a good answer for that one.

Because Jewish people are smart enough to know the REAL reason why neocons are "for" Israel. They want to facilitate rapture by "perfecting" the Jews via converting them to Christianity. Its a bit of a paradox that jews are generally liberal and the democratic party sides with enemies of Israel, like Palestine and muslim extremists.

The answer is logistic. For some reason, there is a huge population of jews in NYC. As the rest of the country suffers for it, NYC is the heart and soul of the liberal media- NY Times and the 3 of the major liberal tv news groups- ABC, CBS, NBC. The people in NYC are overwhelmed with far-left advocate news groups, like the NY Times.

The culture of NYC is extremely liberal; jewish people live in the NYC area and are brainwashed, like most New Yorkers to think their extremist viewpoint is superior to the rest of the country.

There are many, many Jewish people who oppose socialism, lets not generalize. Sadly, the culture of New York breeds arrogant, elitist socialist viewpoints. No wonder the Clintons shipped their carpet-bag to NYC, where the socialist flag hides all sins, crimes and faults.
