2008 Republican Primary

Steve Said:

Question for those who voted for McCain in 2008 Republican primary?

We Answered:

No, I don't think it would have matters. Too many uniformed liberals had their minds made up long before the election. Most of the 62 million who voted for Obama never took the time to understand that liberalism is nothing more than kin to communism.

Now that the federal government controls GM and most everything else since Obama came into office, it won't be long until our gun rights will be outlawed and our personal property will become property of the state.

The fact is, we are now living in a socialist society and it will soon turn into a communist state if Obama and his liberal posse remain in the White House.

We need a "Fair Tax" proposal NOW! Problem is, the lobbyists control big business, which put Obama in office. Remember how Obama kept saying that he would free the country from the lobbyists? Well, guess what, it ain't gonna happen!

Sheila Said:

What percentage of Republicans in the 2008 Primary said that they would not vote for a Mormon?

We Answered:

A Google search should get you more specific numbers on that. I remember that during the primaries quite a few reports indicated that somewhere between 27 to 40+ percent of all Americans would not vote for a Mormon. A high percentage of conservative evangelical Christians state they will never vote for a Mormon, and they proved it by tanking Mitt Romney's Republican primary bid when he was the clear front-runner.

I remember hearing one evangelical with a TV program stating that Mitt Romney was undoubtedly the best and most competent person to be president from either party and he would be very successful as president, but that Christians absolutely must NOT vote for him because it would give credibility to the LDS church, and in his opinion that would be opening wider the gates of hell.

So much for Charity as the Pure Love of Christ!

Greg Said:

Who did Sarah Palin endorse in the Republican Primaries back in 2008?

We Answered:

I would guess Romney, although I really don't know for sure. Nobody was paying attention to who she supports because nobody knew who she was until the election...just like Obama.

Gabriel Said:

Who did Tea Partiers vote for in the Republican Primary in 2008?

We Answered:

No one. The Tea Party didn't exist back then. It just got started in the spring of 2009.

Most of the other Republican nominees got cold feet and dropped out of the running if they had a bad showing in a state or two. Besides, after what was happening to the economy, no Republican really had shot at the presidency, so running would likely be a waste of money. McCain stuck with it because 2008 was likely his last shot at the presidency.

Edit: The people who eventually became the Tea Party were around, but not the Tea Party itself.
