Am I A Republican Or Democrat

Dora Said:

Are you generally trustful or mistrustful of the police?

We Answered:

I would say that for me, it isn't so much about distrust, but dislike of the potential of unchecked evilness. Cops are the only people in society who can commit crimes and do bad things and no one can do anything about it. For a civilian, committing crimes results in swift, sure accountability, whereas for cops, committing crimes results in...nothing. You can protect yourself against civilians, you cannot protect yourself against cops. If a cop CHOOSES to misbehave and break the law and do bad things unto civlians, civilians have to just take it in and accept it. Of course I am speaking in absolutes here for brevity. But you get the basic idea of what leads to disdain for cops.

Christopher K: I like the way you think. But there are FAR more than one bad cop for every 1000 good ones. That is a common optimistic estimation that a lot of people like to throw around, but it's wrong. For example: What percentage of cops break traffic laws? 99.999999% right? Well, that's not "good".
