Democratic Views Vs Republican Views
Jacqueline Said:
Am I a republican? Am I a democrat?We Answered:
I have voted both Republican and Democrat. My beliefs are similar to yours and I believe myself just a bit right of center which means I vote Republican most of the time. Don't let anyone pigeonhole you, look at which candidate is the most favorable to you and your beliefs and use your brains to find out the facts. The media isn't the best source of information these days so you have to find out where the reliable sources of information are.My favorite thing is to have the congress one party and the president the other party. It is the best way to ensure that anything they do isn't fatal to the country.

Democrat vs Republican?We Answered:
I'm really an independent but I had registered as a Democrat. I really prefer to vote for whoever I feel is qualified...I don't like labels.Annette Said:
Don't you think that giving almost all of the power to two political parties is a bad idea?We Answered:
It is the system of winner take all election by state or Congressional district that causes us to always have two parties. It forces people to chose between the lesser of evils or not have their vote matter, A third party with support spread evenly over the country can not win any representation in congress even if they have support of 20% of the population,Roberto Said:
Republican Plan vs. the Democratic Plan?We Answered:
Although this will be flagged by a democrat and probably deleted...I wanted to say BRAVO! I agree.

Is Bush republican or democratic? We Answered:
The entire Bush family, from George W. to brother Jeb (whom I hope is President someday) to father George, is Republican. Former Vice President Dick Cheney is also Republican. It is similar to the Conservative Party. The anti American socialist idiot Barack Obama and Joe Biden are both Democrats. That party is similar to the Liberal Party; although in recent years it is becoming even worse as far as economic beliefs go; it is becoming similar to the Labour Party or even worse Socialist Party.
And as far as moral beliefs the Democrats are all basically Satanists.

Who is the woman writer who says Republican/Democratic divide is obsolete? We Answered:
Cant help you with the lady's name. But structurally what she predicts can not happen. The two parties are entrenched in their positions by a flaw in electoral method. The flaw is that minority victories are possible. Its bad enough a minority gets locked out of choosing when the majority wins, but having the majority lose is a disaster. To avoid this voters play tactics instead of express there best choices. Only two parties assure a majority wins, but forces extra compromise, and shunts the peoples power into private hands.
This gives those two parties a degree of unaccountable and thus privileged power. Both parties are creatures of privilege, and feed by how well they take it. The divide of issues that they answer to, is along the issue of privilege, and has been from the very start. One is the party of overt and wide privilege, the other covert and narrow privilege.
The issue of more or less government is related, since government is the main block to the later and the method of the former. But it is not close enough a fit to make enough difference. Reagan ran on "gov is the problem" but gov swells more under him then any democrats in 30 years before or after. A narrow investor class did benefit from him bailing out the thrifts, 980 Billion dollars.
The turbulence which marked the Dixiecrat's leaving the democrats to the republicans helps prove how durable this natural divide on issues is. The constant transfer of wealth from blacks to whites was an overt privilege to the wider numbers. But the effect of the civil rights unrest was to interrupt the racial divide and include the victims with the larger number side. In effect the blacks at last became part of the democratic fold. The privilege of economic apartheid then became a covert and narrow issue , and so those that wanted it continued all migrated over to the party of covert privilege.
The Republicans may pretend to be the party of less government, but that's not their game at all, and its not going to change.
