Jefferson thought they spawned in the same way we did and should therefore be our ally. He thought the French people held a populist movement in a noble manner. Siding with them would be a jab at Britain. An alliance with England would encourage more federalist/English politics and encourage a less radical change in their independence.

The Federalist Party was a party started by Alexander Hamilton. He was secretary of the Treasury under Washington. He was a rich banker, and was talented in economics. The party mainly received support from New England, and believed that the national government should have power, and that only landowning, literate, educated white men should get the vote. (As you guessed, it favored the educated and the richer). It favored a national bank. The party saw it's demise when Alexander Hamilton died, and was replaced by the Whigs, who had a different platform, then the Whig party demolished and became the republicans. Authoritative.

That's the simplest run-down for you! You should know a lot more, if you wanted to write an essay, though.

Ask a friend for help or something because I don't think people are going to waste their time doing your homework for you. Research Federalists and Democratic Republicans on the Internet. You should really take more notes in class, study harder, take notes, and ask the teacher for help. If you have a textbook you can use that for help.
