Has the Club for Growth really messed up the Republican Party? We Answered:

Why are Dems calling Michael Steele a token? We Answered:
Let's see, Republicans can still be racist with or without Steele. Actually, I saw some Republicans STILL being racist yesterday. I know you saw the user "No blame, voted McCain" and his or her's racist "questions" about Obama, KFC, and Gorillas.I AM HAPPY, Steele was choosen. Let's see how he is treated by those Racist republicans. And don't deny that there aren't any.
Edit: You are right about the Dixiecrats... but they are a Conservative democrat group. And I know how Republicans like yourself like to bring up slavery and civil rights... you personally were not there, and most republicans today probably were not there, so the Republican party today can not take credit for that.
Edit: Yes, I know that all republicans aren't not racist. But, I have been on Yahoo! for a while and I have seen TOO many racist comments from the Republican side. My problem is that some of you like to act "dumb" like you haven't seen the racism going on here on Y/A. You guys seem to not understand WHY you're getting labeled "the racist KKK party"
Edit: Also, MsManner, you can go to Youtube.com and you will see real, live, Republicans spewing their hate against blacks. Democrats voted for a black this election, its going to be harder to convince me and other dems that WE ARE the racist ones.
Edit: The Democratic party IS the party of minorities, rather you like it or not. The Republican party is 90% (ish) white. I will find you a source if you want?
Edit: MsManner, all I'm trying to say, is that when people in your party are being racist, Republicans like yourself go on the defense to prove that Republicans aren't the party of racism by giving me historic information about slavery and the civil rights. I know the reputation of both parties, I know... but that is still no justification for the racism that has overwhelmingly occured during the last election.
Edit: Listen, when people say that the Republican party is the party of "racism", its not to say that ALL Republicans are racist, because common sense tells you that not ALL republican are racist, but a huge chunk of Republicans are. Like Rush Limby, he is a racist, and you or no one else can tell me otherwise.
Edit: Most monorities have struggled with equality. They would most likely feel more at home with Democratic party, because the Republican party is NOT diverse. Fact is, the Republican party IS NOT the Party for Monorities, right now, and the Republican is most certainly NOT the party OF Minorities, right now.
Edit: Yeah, sure, there were some people who voted for Obama because he's black and there were some who did NOT vote for Obama because he's black. Some who voted for Obama, voted for him because they wanted to see the first black president and you can not fault them no more than you can fault the women who wanted to see the first woman president or the first woman vice president.
Edit: And this is my last edit, I'm getting tired, lol. Yes, people label the Republican party as the racist party.. but Liberals and Democrats got called names this election too... "Obamabots" "Sheep" ... sound familiar? That's just what people see and think, it can be ignorant on their behalf, or it can be just simple observations... I've seen some Obama Sheep and I have seen some Racist Republicans. Period.

Are conservatives worried now that Micheal Steele is the new Republican Chairman? We Answered:
How much more conservative do you want him to BE?...You can't be SERIOUS!http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Michae…
1. Michael Steele, who was adopted as an infant, was born at Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George's County, Md., on Oct. 19, 1958.
2. He grew up in a family of Democrats. Steele credits his mother, Maebell, and Ronald Reagan with turning him toward the Republican Party. Reagan's pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps message recalled a trait Steele's mother exhibited after her first husband, Steele's father, died in 1962 of alcoholism-related liver disease. She refused to go on welfare. Instead, she went to work as a laundress earning minimum wage to support Michael and his sister.
3. One of the first in his family to go to college, he earned a bachelor's degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins University and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Steele also spent a few years at the Augustinian Friars Seminary at Villanova University, in preparation for the priesthood, before deciding instead on a career in civil service.
4. After graduating from law school in 1991, Steele joined Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, an international law firm, based in Washington, D.C. In 1997, he left and worked briefly at the Mills Corp., a real estate development firm based in Virginia, as in-house counsel. He then went out on his own, starting a consulting firm, the Steele Group.
5. Steele rose quickly in the Republican Party, beginning at the local level in Prince George's County as chair of the Prince George's County Republican Central Committee from 1994 to 2000. Then, he was elected chairman of the Maryland Republican Party in December 2000.
6. Steele was elected to statewide office in Maryland, taking office as lieutenant governor in January 2003.
7. In 2004, Steele was tapped to speak at the Republican National Convention.
8. When Sen. Paul Sarbanes, a Democrat, announced he would not seek re-election, several prominent Republicans, including President Bush, persuaded Steele to run for the Senate seat. In November 2006, Steele lost the election to Democrat Ben Cardin.
9. On Feb. 1, 2007, Steele was named the chairman of GOPAC, a political action committee working to elect Republicans to office (Newt Gingrich once held the same position).
10. A devout Catholic, Steele is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Landover Hills, Md. He regularly attends services with his wife, Andrea, and their sons, Michael and Drew.
