New Republican Party

Karen Said:

What specifically is wrong with the TEA party? Is it the new Republican party?

We Answered:

It's what the Republican party should have been all along. Now Republicans are trying to get on board. Some of them are definitely just using the Tea Party as a way to gain popularity. And I've taken note of the ones (Karl Rove) who've dissed the Tea Party.

Ramona Said:

Will the new Republican party have room for Joe the Plumber, Rush and Palin?

We Answered:

June Said:

What helped create the new Republican Party in 1854?

We Answered:

The party was created in opposition to the Kansas-Nebraska Act that would have allowed the expansion of slavery into Kansas. Their first official party meeting was held on July 6, 1854 in Jackson, Michigan. Besides opposition to the expansion of slavery, the new party put forward a progressive vision of modernizing the United States — emphasizing higher education, banking, railroads, industry and cities, while promising free homesteads to farmers. In this way, their economic philosophy was similar to the Whig Party's. Its initial base was in the Northeast and Midwest. The Party nominated Abraham Lincoln and ascended to power in the election of 1860. The party fought for the Union in the American Civil War and presided over Reconstruction. In the election of 1864 a majority of Republicans united with pro-war Democrats to nominate Lincoln to the National Union Party ticket. A faction of Radical Republicans split with the party and formed the Radical Democracy Party. This group chose John C. Fremont as its presidential candidate, before reaching a political agreement and withdrawing from the election in September 1864.

Phillip Said:

Would you join Colin Powell if he formed a new Republican party?

We Answered:

Yes, The GOP IS in big trouble. I would support him 100%. I doubt that he would go that route considering the fact that the republicans see him as a liberal now that he has shown his support for President Obama before the auguration like a true godly patriot American should.*

Republican party needs much prayer!

Pearl Said:

Why would the new Republican representatives miss their swearing in for a party?

We Answered:
