Pennsylvania Republican Party

Colleen Said:

Republicans In Pennsylvania - Will You Vote Against Arlen Specter In The Republican Primary?

We Answered:

Even if you don't live in PA you can help to get him voted out. You can contribute to the Republican that will run against him in the primary, you can volunteer for who ever will run against him.

Here's an e-mail I just got

Dear Fellow American:
I am really angry. Congress is on the verge of voting to enact President Barack Obama's nearly $1 trillion spending bill, a so-called "stimulus" plan. We were close to defeating this outrageous plan. But then three traitorous Republican senators broke ranks to back Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Harry Reid, and the Democrats. Who are they? Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine. These three senators have betrayed not only their colleagues but also the basic principles of the Republican Party, including a fiscally sound government. Collins claimed she voted for the bill after cutting out "fat" — a ridiculous statement, because the Senate proposal she backed will cost at least $8 billion more than the House's pork-laden $819 billion plan. And Specter said the country needs a stimulus, so he is throwing out all good sense to vote for Obama's plan. We agree that the economy needs stimulus — real stimulus such as tax cuts — not hundreds of billions in political payoffs to Democratic constituencies. Consider that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has stated the Obama plan will actually hurt the economy — and that less than 20 percent of the "stimulus" will even spent in the next year. How is this an immediate stimulus, Sen. Specter? Help us expose Sen. Specter — Go Here Now. Defeat RINOs Like Specter The truth is that these three liberal Republicans are RINOS — Republicans in Name Only who — are notorious for siding with the Democrats when important legislation comes up for a vote. They rely on their belief that many constituents have short memories when it comes time to vote. But we don't have a short memory. We at The National Republican Trust PAC will pledge maximum financial support to any Republican who challenges these three senators in a Republican primary. Arlen Specter is particularly vulnerable. He is up for election in 2010. He almost lost a close Republican primary in 2004. He will go down to defeat in 2010 — if we have any say in the matter. You can help us expose RINOs like Specter — Go Here Now. Ad Campaign Will Shock Senators We at The National Republican Trust believe it is time to hold Republicans accountable when they support Democratic policies that are bad for America. For far too long we have allowed GOP politicians to run as Republicans and vote like Democrats. We at The National Republican Trust say "no more." No more to betrayal. No more to fifth columnists in the party. We need to expose liberal Republicans like Specter, Snowe, and Collins. In the coming days, The National Republican Trust PAC will roll out radio ads exposing Specter, Collins, and Snowe in their home states. We will also be targeting conservative Democrats who voted for the Obama pork plan. It is critically important that we do this, because Obama is planning to push through in the coming weeks for programs like socialized healthcare, reducing our military strength — even legalizing millions of illegal aliens. You can help us today — Go Here Now. Obama promised the most liberal administration in history. It is clear he wants to fulfill this promise. We can stop him. But it will take real effort and hard work. We at The National Republican Trust are willing to put in the sweat and tears. We need your financial support to continue this effort. Help us today — Go Here Now. If you want to send a message to GOP traitors like Arlen Specter — donate to us today. Believe me, he and other liberals will get the message as we blanket their states with hard-hitting ads exposing their support for Obama's radical agenda. It is time to elect conservatives who will represent the interests of Americans. Those of us who were forced to watch in pain as liberal Republicans defected to support Democrats now have an outlet for our frustrations. By supporting The National Republican Trust, you know your donation will be used to punish those RINOs who have sold us out time and time again. Show your support for us — Go Here Now. Thank you. Yours for America, Scott Wheeler
Executive DirectorP.S. Please remember the stimulus bill is just the first skirmish in a long battle with the liberals in Congress and the Obama White House. They have already admitted planning the most liberal legislative agenda in history. We must stop them. We need to rebuild the GOP to do it. Help us today. Time is of the essence. Go Here Now

Valerie Said:

are the republicans in Pennsylvania changing party's just to vote for Hillary and then they intend to go back?

We Answered:

yes. Republican crossovers fueled Clinton in Texas and Ohio. This shouldn't be news to anyone. It was widely reported.

Here is an ABC news story about the flood of republicans who are registering as democrats in Pennsylvania.

Republicans despise Hillary. They are just trying to extend the primary and further damage the Democratic nominee.

Clever strategy. Nothing illegal but certainly not playing nicely.

Alfred Said:

What does Specter's switch say about the state of the Republican party and political discourse in general.?

We Answered:

If you read some of the comments from other Republicans on this and other sites, you'll see why the Republican Party is becoming a laughing stock. I say "other Republicans" because I'm a Republican, but I am somewhat ashamed to be associated with the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. I'm tired of listening to idiotic ranting and raving, of blindly opposing everything that Obama does, of reciting the same old party line even if it's been proven to be false and rejected by most Americans. Not all Republicans are narrow-minded and egotistic, and if that's the image that we have right now, well, that's our problem. For a party that's supposed to stand for family and religion, some of our rhetoric has been most un-Christian and downright anti-social. We all know that in order to fix a problem, we first have to identify and recognize the problem. Right now, the Republican Party is still in denial, and refusing to concede defeat. The Republican Party upholds some beautiful values, and it's a shame to see it being hijacked by extremists. It'll take a new kind of Republicans to rebuild the party. But we're not there yet.

Tonya Said:

Should the Democrats Be Licking Their Chops Over the Death of the Republican Party?

We Answered:

Yes we should, but I don;t think they are dead enough. I'm praying for something else to take place like Palin's husband breaking her nose or something. Or a picture of Cheney and Rush tongue kissing

Ray Said:

Republican Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania switched parties – the GOP is too “far right” for even “the right”?

We Answered:

Specter was pretty much left out of the party games after the 2000 campaign. He and McCain would've been the picks for most likely to change parties since they pushed against what even then were standard party lines.

I think the GOP needs to figure out what they stand for again, perhaps another "contract" spelling it out. Bush was no Reagan Republican, doubling agency spending and expanding government and governmental monitoring.

We have the most people this nation's ever had, and at the same time, the government has more information on every individual than at any time, yet it's still not enough.

Their only hope at mid-term is that Obama's massive spending doesn't work out and that they find a way to connect with people moreso than just "OMG GAYS" and "Abortion is murder". Those seem to be the only consistent messages they have other than "screw the poor, they just need to work more."
