Republican And Democratic

Debra Said:

When did the ideology of the Democratic and Republican party switch?

We Answered:

During Washington's administration political parties were formed with the Federalists being similar to the Republican party today. It was founded by Hamilton. The Republican-Democrats were what the democratic party is today. It was founded by Jefferson. Hamilton's party was for a strong central government. Jefferson's political ideals were in line with states rights being the powerful body of thought and politics.

In terms of their views of the Constitution there has been a change:

Federalists were loose constructionists today they are strict constructionists

Republican-Democrats were strict constructionists today they are loose constructionists

Republican ~Democratic ~?

We Answered:

I think you are way off, Obama is not a Muslim but that is not why I would not vote for him. The Dem Party ( I am a lifelong Dem) has lost touch with its own party. Obama and Hillary are gimmick candidates, not qualified candidates. Some people believe so much in the perceived culture in the US and political correctness they think that a majority of people do as well. Hillary and Obama are not very good choices. Edwards was a electable but he is just qualified and that is not important in the Dem Party. The DNC does not represent the Dem voter base and that is why millions of Dems voted for Bush, twice and the last time during the height of the anti Iraq war stuff. Bush was the lesser of the two evils and for that the Dem Party should be ashamed. Bill Richardson was probably the most qualified candidate ever shown us (Gov, Energy Sec/ Congressmen, Ambassador, Hispanic) but he is not the flashy thing the media wants to play with so he is out. McCain will probably win the election if he is nominated. He is not Bush, in fact was a better candidate than Bush, but lost out last time because he is not political enough. He is a moderate and this is a moderate country. Dems vote across the spectrum and will not vote for Hillie or Obie. But I don't think he is a Muslim despite his name. He is a colossal phony though I will give you that.

Justin Said:

Who else thinks that both the Republican & Democratic parties are a total waste of time to support?

We Answered:

It's a total waste of time to vote, period, as the Constitution is dead.

hillbillienot, the Democrats ARE the rich, elite of this country.
For your information (I know you don't care, because Democrats don't care about anything but forcing their beliefs on everyone else) I have NEVER voted and never will. Both parties ignore the Constitution, and the libertarians are not much better. The only thing I care about is truth, freedom, individuality, and being left alone. Anyone that identifies with that "tribal" mentality is my enemy.
