Good question. Republicans ignored the warnings during the Bush administration about the illegal spying activities and the expansion of executive surveillance power. Now that the procedures are under Democratic control, and although I support the Democrats, I doubt that the Democrats will be extremely eager to give up that sort of information-gathering power. It will take hearings and investigations and requests from Congress to fully explore the situation. That could take a while.

Even independents in Congress have to belong to either the Republican or Democratic platform. Reason being, they can't get any committee seats if they don't because of the way the Democrats and Republicans have written congressional rules so that committee seats are divided between the majority and minority party with any other parties completely ignored. They've entrenched themselves so that its virtually impossible to change this.

There are many difference between Republicans and Democrats. Here are a few of the differences I can come up with;

1. Republicans Tell The Truth wile Democrats Do Not Keep Their Promises.

2. Republicans are Team Players (like the players of the 1974 Oakland Athletics who won the 1972-1974 World Series) while Democrats do not work together as a team.

3. Republicans believe that the US Military needs to be fully equipted while Democrats do not believe that the military should get too much funding.

4. Republicans believe that Americans deserve tax relief while Democrats want to raise your taxes not matter what you status of class is in America.
