Republican Economic Policy
Sharon Said:
Given what we know about the Bush / Republican economic policy ?We Answered:
Bush / Republican economic policy is far better than anything we could expect from the Obama/ Democrat economic policy.McCain will surround himself with good advisors and we will be fine, if not better.
Joseph Said:
Which major Republican economic policy has been successful? We Answered:
The only thing that I can think of that has been successful during the Bush years is the "do not call list" bill.I suppose, given a very liberal interpretation, that was sort of an economic policy (at any rate, telemarketers don't call me during dinner any more) and it worked out great.
Everything else has been a complete and utter disaster unless you are a war profiteer, personally own more than 1,000 shares of Big Oil stock, or you are John McCain and have a wife worth 100 million dollars. His economy is doing just fine thank you.
Just turn on the TV or pick up a newspaper if you want proof.
Norma Said:
How do republican economic policies harm the middlle income earners of the USA?We Answered:
There isn't an answer to this question. The Republican economic plan is to keep jobs in this country by rewarding companies that grow HERE instead of going elsewhere.I grew up in NW Indiana. There were about 5 steel mills there in my youth and they employed about 150,000 uneducated, highly paid union members. Eventually, the costs that the unions demanded became too high. Today, there are about 15,000 employed in the area. It costs less to ship the raw materials to Japan to make the steel and then ship the steel to Detroit to make the cars. Correction: The auto workers union is changing that as well.
Demanding that "the company" or "the rich" pay for all your programs does not benefit the worker or the country. It leaves the worker out of work and the country without productivity or a tax base anymore.
Democrats think everybody deserves to have things.
Republicans think everybody deserves the opportunity to get things.
The bible tells us that if a man doesn't work, neither should he eat - it doesn't say that the rich should feed those who won't work.
BTW - Obama is intending on giving people money from the IRS not as a refund, but as welfare. Refunds are only for someone who initially put money into the system. Welfare is a handout to someone who never contributes. He is doing it via the IRS, to avoid the term "welfare".
Alvin Said:
How was Reganomics in line with and how was it different from traditional Republican Economic Policy? We Answered:
Traditional Republicans think balanced budgets are more important than tax cuts although they like low taxes and always want to reduce spending Reaganomics believes that deficits don't matter if they are created by cutting taxes. That is lower taxes will produce enough growth that tax cuts will pay for themselves.Milton Said:
Will Mccain be another poor economic policy republican? We Answered:
What is "on the books" is that over a third of the people in the US pay no income taxes at all. What is "on the books" is an economy that grew steadily for almost eight years despite inheriting a recession and suffering the worst attack on US soil since the Civil War.
What is "on the books" is that more Americans than ever before own the own homes.
What is "on the books" is that the GDP has grown faster in the last eight years than ever before.
What is "on the books" is that disparity of income only went down for a few decades after WW2 (for the only time in recorded history, anywhere). Check out the link below and see what percent of GDP George Washington controlled.
What is "on the books" is that no nation in the history of the world has more overweight "poor" people than we do, let alone the number of "poor" people who have cable TV.
Class warfare propaganda is as base and meaningless as racial warfare propaganda.
Diana Said:
What do you think of the republican economic policy of the last 8 years? We Answered:
"The proof is in the pudding"Dennis Said:
If Republican economic policies work how come we went into this recession? We Answered:
Republicans lie. It takes courage and fortitude to admit making mistakes. It also takes courage and fortitude to make corrections, rather than stick to the same old failed notions about what works and what doesn't work. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results each time.
