Republican National Convention

Johnny Said:

Will illegal immigration be an issue at the Republican National Convention?

We Answered:

Oh yeah. It's something no one wants to touch.

Erika Said:

Do you think the Republican National Convention is staged?

We Answered:

I think it is carefully orchestrated... but not staged. There's no way they are using canned applause. There are hundreds (thousands?) of reporters there... a majority are considered to be left leaning, so if there was any whiff of taped applause or laughter, they'd be all over.

I think with an audience of thousands... you're bound to see pockets of people chatting, wandering. Have to believe the delegates are there and just as focused as the Democratic delegates were.

Loretta Said:

Why is the Republican National Convention looking boring?

We Answered:

Because it WAS Boring! And for the record an event, especially one that is celebrating the American Democratic spirit doesn't and in fact shouldn't be boring! Fireworks, Music, funny hats, Cheering as well as pertinent issues are ALL a part of American culture and politics. You know good and well that the Democratic National Convention was not Wrestle Mania. You are just upset that the Convention was lively, colorful, professional and very well put together. And by the way conservative doesn't have to equal boring either. The problem is that whoever put together the Republican convention is running off of old ideas. You can clearly see the difference between the two conventions; its the old standard v. the new and innovative. The Republican convention so far has reeked of the 1990s. The Convention and indeed the Party as a whole is struggling to be contemporary.

Shirley Said:

what role does religion play in the the republican national convention and campaign?

We Answered:

Religion shouldn't come into play at all. Morality is crucial and a history of patriotism and loyalty is important in any nominee for either party. There are so many different religions and non-religions that, to follow any one of them, would not be fair to the rest of America. JFK was Catholic, but he vowed to administer without religious influence, and he kept that vow. Some religions, like Mormonism, is a way of life and would be hard to ignore in decision-making. There are many more like that and is the reason for separation of Church and State. I also don't agree with faith- based initiatives or vouchers for education.
