Technically, no. The national chairperson (Howard Dean for the dems) stays the leader, but at the same time he answers to the nominee, so yes, but still no. It's confusing.

The problem is that the GOP has a lack of leadership at this point. Many internal squabbles. No real direction, at least these days. Because of the lack of strong leadership, people like Limbaugh, Beck and Palin have come in to fill the vacuum.

After the last election, the leaders of the GOP realized that their party's image, it's 'brand', had been severely damaged by Bush. They felt the party needed to become more moderate, more conciliatory. So they hired a new chairman who 'just happened to be black'. His first act was to ask for the resignation of the entire top staff of the party.

But the more hidebound wing, the hard-liners, revolted at this. Anger and righteous indignation is easier to sell than moderation and compromise. Plus right wing media find it maximizes their audience and their profits. So when Michael Steele said that Rush Limbaugh was 'just an entertainer', something Rush himself used to say just a few years ago, Limbaugh forced him to apologize. Since then Steele has just been a figurehead and the GOP has concentrated on Obama hatred, sometimes irrational. In Ronald Reagan's words, the inmates are running the asylum.

They say whatever their insurance lobbyist masters tell them. But they will never vote for anything Obama wants, and you and I both know it.

I prefer the rugged good looks of presidential candidate, Romney, to most people in general.

That doesn't mean he gets my vote though it is very tempting....

I could easily put up with 8 years of looking and listening to him.

Of course, I am an adult and that definitely affects my judgment.

The GOP leadership is RESPONSIBLE for Bush. They CREATED him. He is their PUPPET Government in the USA!!

What they will feel is sh**t scared that the Investigators are coming after the whole stinking criminal lot of them!!

And they should ALL be charged as International Human Rights abusers before we start taking any revenge for what they did here!!!

Because WE are the only people in the world who had the chance to stop him at the ballot box.
