Teen and pre maritial pregnancies for those other then right wing is a symbol of low class and lack of family values but when it happens to the elite of them it's a mistake. And it happens more often than just Bristol and before her, her Mom.

Evangelical Christians had much more control in the Republican party five to ten years ago than they do now. One common factor uniting the groups is that they value loyalty and dogmatic adherence to a particular position far above truth and adjusting strategy to meet true facts. They are also both very judgmental groups of people, who believe that they (white Christians) are more important than everyone else and that everyone else should think and act they way they do. This makes it much easier for them to wage war across the world imposing their worldview on other people and cultures. Does a Muslim person in the middle east, who has always been raised to believe that government should be led by respected Muslim religious leaders, have any interest in or use for our democtratic form of government or in being a Christian? Absolutely not. Does that matter to evangelical Christians or republicans? Unfortunately not.

They have shot themselves in the foot through their own hipocrasy. They preach values, but get caught stealing, cheating, and in sex scandals. They preach conservative spending, but spend the public money to record debt every time they get in office. They preach patriotism, but leave Americans to suffer while they wage pointless wars around the world.

In recent years, the Republican party has started to fracture due to the extreme positions of evangelical Christians and conservative Republicans. They are hate mongers who lie, hide the truth, and get caught in sex scandals. Fortunately, people are opening their eyes and fewer are voting for them.

That has always been the case since Nixon at the least.

The Core of the Neocon Philosophy can be traced to Leo Strauss who believed that American Society was too soft and ripe for Nazi take over as he had seen in Germany. Unfortunately he had already internalized the philosophies of Heidegger and others that form the base of Nazi thought.

He knew that people would not willingly support a restrictive government and so sought to create a core of Plato's "philosopher kings" who would promote two simultaneous agendas.

A fake one that was all about Religion and Patriotism that they would use to "control the masses" and a secret Nihilistic one to grab power at any cost, and to allow themselves any sort of deviance or debauchery as long as it did not spoil the image of the fake agenda. That second bit never works out well.

Those who actually believed their fake agenda they called gentlemen, but it is with laughter and derision not respect, and they consider them useful idiots.

Since those fake "Core Values" are entirely situationally based on the expected reaction of others, they often turn on a dime, running impeachment as one President goes off to war, and unleashing a screeching mob at those who speak out against the next.

No matter what was said in the past, each day they will say whatever will advance their goals and they will act with exactly the same agenda for totalitarian power, and the looting of every last penny, or drop of oil, or anything else of value.

It just tells me that human beings as a race are inherently greedy, self absorbed, and corrupt.

When they get their dirty little mitts on power, they just become absolutely corrupt.

The choice voters have is to try and figure out who will be just a little less corrupt and incompetent than the other corrupt and incompetent candidates.

I seriously don't care what a politician does sexually. The problem is when people claim to be pro family values and anti gay, then sneak around and cheat on their wives with women or men. Really, historically politicians with power tend to stray, but only one party has claimed to be the judge of morals and values. That's where the double standard lies.
