They are there to represent their states not the Republican Party. Whether they are acting any differently than they have in the past is open to our speculation or would require further research as to their voting record. I presume their voters are quite aware of their views and actions.As far back as I can remember Specter tends to be controversial to the GOP because he is such a vocal supporter of the Constitution. (Not that I necessarily agree with him half of the time)
Both Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are known to avoid the "lockstep" approach of many of the more mendacious Senators. I know that they are among some of the hardest working Senators and have extremely good voting ie attendance records of the Senate. I was checking up on our last bunch of Prez candidates and my own Senators. Year after year they were in the top ten.
I think Specter may have a tougher race next time than he has seen in a long while - as he should. He has checked his moral outrage at the door one too many times in the last few years.
LOL I Just checked the link before I signed off! I have never seen such bad photos of any of them. Typical MSM slanting.
Susan Collins may have a few people mad at her. Some of the so called "pork" they cut out would have probably gone to create jobs in her state as well as mine. They cut a Coast Guard Ship building program that would have created over a thousand jobs (fairly high paying blue collar ones) in either or both Washington State and Maine or maybe just one. The Coast Guard is facing some very expensive repairs in the near future due to the age of their cutters. Bath Maine and Seattle have extensive and successful experience repairing and maintaining these ships as well as the Ice breaker fleet. Unlike the massive failure of the recent ships built at Newport News with a no bid contract and little oversight. OK Too much info but I am still PO'd about this. These were REAL jobs for a project that is needed. The Coast Guard actually has a decent mission.
