Republican Vs Democratic

Julio Said:

Where can I find IMPACT of Republican vs. Democratic administrations?

We Answered:

There is no such source.

Serious research shows that it simply doesn't matter which party is in power. The most important institution in the short-run is the Federal Reserve and its monetary policy. Fiscal policy, on the other hand, is not single-handedly shaped by the administration (Congress has a lot to say about it, too); additionally, the impact of fiscal policy can take up to three years to materialize, so something that an administration puts in place may not have any effect until the next administration.

Additionally, back in 1960s, Robert Mundell showed that if a country does not actively manage the value of its currency (and the U.S. doesn't), domestic economic activity only responds to monetary policy; the only thing fiscal policy impacts is the direction of international capital flow (high-tax countries experience capital outflow, low-tax countries, capital inflow).

Less serious research, however, suggests that a recession is the most likely to happen during a second year of a Republican administration...

Mabel Said:

how does healthcare policy legislation differ between republican vs democratic congresses and administrations?

We Answered:

These are generalizations, but mostly true.

Republicans tend to view healthcare as a privilege, not a right, and legislation is geared towards privatization.

Democrats tend to view healthcare as a right, not a privilege and legislation is geared towards government/tax funded healthcare benefits.
