As a republican i personally am pro life but that is my personal decision. I don't think abortion should be taken away, I don't think my personal beliefs should be forced on every one. As far as gay marriage is concerned i am all for it, its called letting everyone have equal rights and i don't think its fair that a group of people are being discriminated against, but i also feel that if we allow gay marriage we should go ahead and allow multiple marriages again that all goes to equal rights. I don't like the universal health care plan because i have experienced it i lived in Italy for a few years and while medical care there is cheap believe me you get what you pay for. I also don't think we as a country as large as our can afford it, i do think we should put a cap on how much profit an insurance company can make so that a larger amount of money that is put into it is actually being used for their customers medical care. I think that we can develop a way to make sure every one under the age of 18 can get adequate medical care,i think if both parties can put aside the differences we can come up with a reasonable solution. And as far as welfare goes people on welfare should also be given an education so they can get off welfare, if they refuse the education then it shows they have no interest in getting off of that program and should be kicked off of that program but those with mental or physical disabilities should be allowed of course to stay on.

That's one of my big questions as a conservative. They had all the marbles prior to 2006 and managed to get very little done with it. I don't know the specifics, but I'm unhappy with it.

However, regarding the evangelical vote, I don't smell conspiracy. I only smell incompetence.

Well, I'm neither conservative nor a republican (I'm Libertarian), but I do understand why abortion is considered to be unethical.

1) A human fetus is a very dependent human who depends it's life on it's mother, just like a weak patient who depends it's life on the respirator and the intravenal delivery of nutrients.

2) Killing of a fetus in many cases has been proven to be considered murder. For example, if killing or harming a pregnant mother results in the death of the fetus, it is considered a double homicide or homicide (of the fetus).

3) Therefore, a willful removal of the fetus or willful killing of the fetus (when the mother's life is not in danger from a normal childbirth) is considered murder.

4) Put yourself in the shoes of the fetus. You were once a fetus, and you were lucky that your mother didn't abort you. If you were a fetus, would you willingly let someone end your life prematurely?

5) It is not a matter of religion, although religion does play a part. It is a matter of the constitutional rights of a human being. If we don't protect the life of a dependent human being, how can we say that we protect 'Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness'? If we don't protect life, then liberty and the pursuit of happiness cannot be protected.

Broad generalizations, this is not true for each individual politician so try to get to know your politician, but here goes


Democrats are the leftists, the believe in personal freedoms yet advocate the wellfare state and generaly side with Ecology over Economy. Think harder gun control but protect abortion.

Republicans are conservative, traditionaly they were about limiting goverments roll in economy, while using goverment to police perosnal liberties. Think just say no to wellfare and while your at it say no to gay marriage. Be carefull of neocons though, for example cheney is on a crusade to protect presidential power, wich is contrary to traditional republican cliche above.

On taxes dems are more likley to taxe big buisness and the wealthy, while republicans would rather not tax buisness and have the wealthy foot a smaller portion of the bill placing the tax burden on poor and middle class Americans.

On important issues, both ignore the facts and plot on how they can sway the public to vote for them.
