Lots of smug and sanctimonious Republican spawn. My estimation is about 30% Repugnants, 65% oblivious, and 5% die-hard liberals.

Remember when the Republicans were the nice people? The pillars of society and culture? The people who sustained the symphony and ballet and art museum? No more I am afraid.

Now it has become the party of the selfish, the mean-spirited, the overtly and covertly racist. What a shame - the party that freed the slaves, pushed though the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, that created the National Park System, that pushed through the G.I. Bill - now the repository of the uncivil and lowest elements of American society.

Sorry for the rant - if you ask, P.U. is not for you. There are plenty of excellent schools where being racist and mean-spirited are not virtues.

Whats the longest word any one has heard Beck (phony Libertarian) use correctly? To the right "Oceania has always been at war with the Democrats." And the telescreen in every house proclaims the enemies of the state every night. And now the left is catching up.

And when there were no WMD's found in Iraq? The original condemnation of Sadam Hussain the commandment to start war was writ large on the Fox news Barn.

.... and all the humbler animals set to work to learn the new maxim by heart. , was inscribed on the end wall of the barn, above the Seven Commandments and in bigger letters When they had once got it by heart, the sheep developed a great liking for this maxim, and often as they lay in the field they would all start bleating "WMD's bad, Nation Building Bad." and keep it up for hours on end, never growing tired of it.

And then after there were no WMD's found...

Is there a single Fox viewer that ever noticed how they were tricked? And now the Dems have the power and the list of compromised promises grows daily. Same war, same economy, same giveaways to the wealthy, same excuses.

Orwell's mistake was thinking that a "Kaleidoscope" would be about fiction, when the distraction is much better portrayed as real conflict. Two parties neither concerned for freedom, and only held to the lowest standards of the other.

I think you would be surprised at how many Libertarians, Greens and other small parties as well as independents are running this year. I know here in Western Montana we have Libertarian and independent candidates who are putting a respectable showing up this year. And it is not a lie if you think you can do something until you get in office and find that some of what you want to do is blocked by little known and well hidden laws like President Obama has run into with about 80 of his campaign promises.
