Sarah Palin Republican Party

Debra Said:

Who has more Political Clout in the Republican Party, Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh?

We Answered:

Douche Limbaugh. The Republicans have forgotten that, not only are the conservatives racist, they are also sexist.

Debbie Said:

Who has more influence in the Republican Party? Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann?

We Answered:

Palin, by a substantial measure. Why do you ask?

Michele Said:

Do you think Sarah Palin dug the republican party grave?

We Answered:

Palin was probably his only shot at a victory. She was a big risk and in the end she clearly didn't pay off and probably even cost him some votes, but certainly not the election. What did McCain in was, in more or less this order...

1. The economy. A guy who professes to have little economic expertise and whose party was getting the lions share of the blame for the downturn was going to have a tough row to hoe no matter what.

2. Where is the real John McCain? The straight-talkin', centrist, bigger-than-his-party, "maverick" McCain of 2000 was not running in 2008. I'm not sure who this other guy was but it was not the John McCain I supported in 2000. Instead we had a guy who avoided the press and often struggled for answers or stuck to prepared sound-bites where formerly he loved to mix it up with reporters. We had a guy who had moved so far to the right in order to attract the few remaining Bush loyalists whom he was convinced he needed to win that he alienated a lot of the peopel who supported him in the past.

3. "I'm suspending my campaign." The single biggest bonehead move of his campaign was announcing that he was suspending it to rush to Washington to move bailout negotiations forward. Instead he moped around New York for a day, showed up at the 11th hour in Washington with no plan and sat around looking like an afterthought for the remainder of the process. This was a guy on the outside, not a leader.

4. Sarah Palin. She gave McCain the initial boost he was looking for to solidify the "Bush Republicans" who don't like and have never trusted McCain. She also attracted some disaffected Hillary supporters. But the more the public learned about Palin the less they liked her until at the end some polls showed nearly 60% thought she was unqualified to be president if the need arose. McCain's seemingly rash decision to chose her (even at McDonald's a potential employee needs to go through 3 interviews) made people question his leadership. Palin's seeming tendency to push her own aggenda and ambitions ahead of the tickets also caused discourse within the campaign that it didn't need.

5. Reacting to Obama. Why did McCain spend so much time and money in Pennsylvania? It was pointless but McCain allowed Obama to pin him down there instead of spending time in other states where he probably could have been more successful. It demonstrated a lack of leadership and direction in the campaign. They were reacting to what Obama was doing instead of following their own strategy.

6. The dirty campaign. Instead of taking the high road to the highest office in the land as promised early on the McCain campaign bogged down into one petty accusation after another. By the end of the campaign I had no idea what McCain even stood for anymore. All I kept hearing from him was Ayers, ACORN and the LA Times. Obama kept on message and never let himself get distracted. McCain never seemed to find a message. Instead the campaign devolved into the accusation of the day.

7. Joe the Plumber. McCain shouldn't have used the same vetting strategy on him that he used in selecting Palin. Far from a saviour of the campaign this lug was at best a distraction who did nothing for them.

Lynn Said:

what is the role of the sarah palin in the republican party?

We Answered:

hopefully to run for president, for yet another OBAMA VICTORY!

Melissa Said:

Who's more capable of running the Republican party, Sarah Palin or William Buckley?

We Answered:

Buckley, but I would be torn between a Buckley and Goldwater choice.

Comparing Palin to a great conservative is pre-mature.

EDIT: Many people are not comprehending a hypothetical question.

Mabel Said:

Will Elisabeth Hasselbeck stumping with Sarah Palin/Republican party help or hurt the Republicans?

We Answered:

Hasselbeck is a radical conservative that is soooo far to the right that she makes most Republicans cringe, and she has an attitude problem.

I don't think she carries much weight.
