I wish no misfortune on anyone this holiday season. I hope that he recovers and maintains his seat. If he does not, it is up to the govenor of his state to appoint who he chooses. I am one of those non compassionate conservatives you keep hearing about. My hopes and prayers are with his family.It is the media, kind of like the negative view they always show. It generates ratings. Just like the war in Iraq. They show only negative, never positive, and have created a mob mentality.

I think it's a shame that it could determine power in the Senate, but the answer isn't that simple. Just because a Democratic is elected senator doesn't mean ANY Democrat will do. People don't always vote along party lines. Maybe it should be the outgoing senator that should have a vice senator.
