"Honk if I'm paying your mortgage" bumper sticker... I'm sorry am I missing something here?We Answered:
your friend made a stupid decision. we ARE paying as now that lender (like so many others) is getting back only a small portion of what was given out. look at the companies on TV saying - i can get your debt down to 65%..... who's going to pay the other 35%!? the lender will be taking a loss -- someone has to pay. I like your idea of the 50 year loan - sadly they are not doing that. realtors and brokers are TELLING people who CAN pay their mortgages - don' t pay so you can get a short sale and just get out.Patrick Said:
Why is the RNC demanding that the Tennessee GOP stop using Barack Hussein Obama's middle name?We Answered:
I don't know, it makes not sense. That is his middle name, just like "S" (yes, just S) was Harry S Truman's middle name. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe he is ashamed of his middle name for some reason. But that makes no sense either, since it is part of who he is. It scares me that he would want to hide something so basic about himself.

Is the TN ad on Michelle Obama shameful? We Answered:
If she said it, she said it. My mama used to tell me, "Don't say something you don't want the whole world to hear". Apparently, Michele Obama wanted the whole world to hear. It's fair game. Nothing shameful about it, unless you think what she said was shameful.Eileen Said:
Why are Tennessee Republicans threatening to kick Republican Kent Williams out of their Party? We Answered:
I used to live in Kingsport so I know these guys. That is hysterical! No, it's scandalous and LOL funny. Jason is basically a jerk anyway and had it coming.

When & why did the Republicans betray their basic principles? We Answered:
The through line of the party has always been that they were on the side of big business with few regulations. In the days of Lincoln through FDR, this fiscal conservativism seemed to be aligned with socially liberal ideals, as the free market helped former slaves and other poor people to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, benefiting everyone.By the time of FDR's presidency, the robber barrons had conglomerated so much of the nation's wealth that the wheels of capitalism were turning solely for them. The great depression was the ultimate demonstration of how under regulation can hurt the society and how the poor are the most affected, as the principal cause was the free flow of margin loans, causing people to lose a lot more money than they actually invested.
FDR flipped the parties, arguing with the new deal that a large government can fill the gap of a weak private sector and strong regulation can keep the private sector healthy. Suddenly regulation was on the side of the people and deregulation benefited only the wealthy.
Slowly, between FDR and Reagan, the republican began to capture the social conservatives, now abandoned by the democratic party. Nixon brought in the south, but he won largely because of the fracture of the democratic party after RFK's assassination. Reagan was the one who finally united the social, fiscal, military, and religious conservatives in his coalition. That event crystalized what is todays mainstream republican party.
The current administration is run primarily by the neocons, who prey on some aspects of that coalition stressing primarily those aspects that affect their globalization strategy, principally deregulation and military build-up, though Bush is also strongly socially conservative himself as well.

Should President Obama spend one dime of Federal money to bail out Tennessee in their disaster? We Answered:
NOPE, not one single penny of federal money should go to the state that has the KKK version of the Confederate flag flying beside old glory. NOT ONE DIME!Great post!
