Liberalism and Conservatism are two political viewpoints in two different prongs: Economic and social. (So a "conservative" could mean someone who is economically conservative, socially conservative, or both,same for liberal).

The Democrats and the Republicans are two parties which claim to enforce liberalism and socialism respectively, but whenever either actually gains power they get hardly anything done and follow almost identical policies except on a few key issues like abortion and healthcare. Otherwise it's "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

The two party political system is a complete and utter joke and the sooner people realize this, the better. NOTHING is ever going to change while we have to put up with this crappy partisan bickering instead of actually getting things done.

They spend more time taking shots at individual people and personalities on the opposing side than at HOW these people are actually running the country! I don't give a **** who is in office as long as I approve of their policies. It seems to me that many of these parties say "I don't care what laws are being passed as long as the people passing them are people I like!"

It's more like "Conservatism - an ideology which shoves its morals in my face and into my country's legal system whether I agree with those morals or not."
