I think you and me both are closer to being libertarian, though as Ronald Reagan once said that Libertarianism and Republicanism need each other and both stand for similar goals, maybe not exact but similar enough to where they should be equal. Someone needs to tell that to the Blue Blood New Englander Republicans like G.W.B., G.H.W.B., John McCain, Olympia Snowe, Arlen Specter, et al.

He's too vanilla (plain). Maybe the electors thought he'd remind people of Bush (same middle age-ish white talking head with thick accent), but didn't realize people want to break this president stereotype now. They need to breath fresh air and definitely need to change America's image.

Good question. I have been in the south and saw less racism there than I see on a routine basis in "liberal" California.
