What Are The Differences Between Democrats And Republicans

Travis Said:

what are the main differences between Democrats & republicans?

We Answered:

republicans make no bones about being for themselves and for big business. democrats pretend to be bluecollar guys looking out for the little guy. Of course both are composed principally of rich, influencial and corrupt beurocrats. Republicans screw you in the front, democrats screw you in the rear.
Democrats are generally more liberal and tend to be pro abortion, pro environment (at least on the surface) and say that they will cut taxes. They direct money towards social security and are for immigrants receiving benefits and bend toward Unions and directing funding out of education, emergency services towards the jobless and welfare area. They are pro gay rights, anti - conservative, pro-womens rights, and assist these causes to no end.
Republicans are pro business, with all that entales. They tend to be anti - abortion, and will not claim to cut taxes because they realize that someone needs to pay for all the mess we've created. Generally they direct funding away from social security, and into areas such as education, they are not as supportive of the poor and immigrants, but tend to support more conservative causes such as protecting retirement packages, looking out for seniors in prescription drug cases. They are more military oriented than are democrats, and often support intervention and put less faith in the UN. average republicans are more likely to be party loyal and actually vote, whereas democrats are less likely to vote in elections. Republicans are generally middle class or the middle class economic status, and educated.

Lorraine Said:

what are the fundamental differences between Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians?

We Answered:

you could read about it on the internet but I will try and explain from a lifetime republican voters perspective. Republicans of old were like Lincoln, Steady and believed in common sense and fairness. Many wanted to punish the south after the civil war but Lincoln wanted to bring them back into the fold as soon as possible. Democrats were the slave states. Libertarians believe in no intervention and minimal government. Today: Republicans that turned to the far religious right managed to get the states from the bible belt " the south" Democrats started to pander to the poor using them and wanting to keep them on the dole to feel appreciation for their great benefactors the democrats. Libertarians still want people to be autonomous and make it on their own skills.

My opinion: There is tremendous corruption in both the Democrats and republican parties.
What they should be:
Republicans believe in capitalism and would never reward poor business practices by bailing any companies out. They support welfare to the extent of helping someone out only until they get back on their feet and can work. they should believe in a smaller government but have increased it in the past.

Democrats: believe in large government and many government services and heavy regulation and control. They also seem content to maintain a permanent welfare class to use those services.

Libertarians: believe in letting people live their lives and having government intervene only when a criminal act takes away another individuals liberty, Charity would be a privilege for those who deserve it. people can do anything they want as long as it does not hurt another individual.

I actually intend to vote independent because the republicans are not the moral, logical, smart party my father introduced me to any longer.
