Democrats stand for, the will of the people, a nation of laws, education, leadership, and diplomacy,,Republicans are bigots by Definition,, ignore the will of the people, make their own laws, dictate what they think others should believe, faithful followers, stay the course,,,

If the Republican party stands for a deregulated market, what does Mc cain stand for?We Answered:
The Republican party does stand for deregulation. McCain stands for McCain.McCain is proposing regulation for Real Estate and Banking because he thinks that's what will get him elected. The Conservative party is going to support that during the election because they want to get him elected and then they're going to do what the hell they want to do because that's the way they roll. Look at George Bush.
For the debate, he's going to propose regulation for everything, giving money to everyone and again because he thinks it will get him elected. But of course, he doesn't mean any of it. Because, clearly that's the way he rolls.

This is a very fair question, and i respect your approach...I think it's just that each person has their own take of why they are republican, and just like their are different niches in democrat's, so in republican party.
Small Government types, Fiscal Financial types, pro-life types, all kinds of types...
Now let's not paint all democrats the same, and republican's the same...we all widely vary, in different ways, based on our values and experiences...as they have shaped us...
And i agree we have to be more than just about opposing democrat's, and i also agree we haven't always been best at explaining that...
Let me describe the republican i am, and see if that helps....
1. Financial Conservativsm - Basically if we are going to spend money, it should be spent wisely, and towards programs that deliver solid tangiable results...
2. Smaller Federal Government - I think that the federal government has been adding power's, and growing far further than what the founding father's had in mind.. I mean, what is really important for the federal government role? Shouldn't a lot more of it's work be based in the states and cities and counties?
3. Marriage/Gay Issue - This issue is very touchy, and i certainly don't want to be blamed as being anti-gay, if i think a political decision is wrong...But on other hand, gay's are people to, and deserve to have a happy life...i do respect that... But on other hand, i also think marriage should be a respected, and valued thing...and i don't have any answers as to what way is right...there has to be a fair and reasonable compromise somewhere but i don't know what that is...
4. Self-Responsibility - Okay...i mean at some point, we're adults, and how can we expect other people to pay for, and take care of us, when we're not giving anything back...I do believe in helping people, everyone goes thru life crisis's, lose a job, get laid off...But there has to be reasonable time/dollar limits, to get people back to work...instead of being dependent on the government...
But honestly in the end....if we can't be american's 1st that can find ways to agree and work together, and respect each other...do we really want to spend the rest of our life's in endless battle's?
Or maybe grow up a bit, and find ways to work together to make a better America.....
I know in my heart, that just as there are many places we disagree, there's got to be many places we agree on...
And i'd rather have us focus on that, then really inane battles of over who's right/wrong over each issue...
That's my opinion, worth maybe a nickle xXD

The Democrats could still filibuster things in the Senate. And there are always a handful of moderate Republicans who don't support bills that are supported by the majority of Republicans. But you can get a sense of it. Republicans support lower taxes and peace through strength.
