You need to pick a venue:

home (with one of those come to your home/party planners they do a great job..will even teach the ladies how to pour/stir/sip their tea)

a garden

a bed and breakfast

or..a tea room

If you are looking for a new twist on an old favorite:

Have a hat party...outrageous hats! Have the bride in a white hat..of course..with veil...people can pin dollars, condoms or undies to it.

Have the ladies dress in fancy little girl tea party clothes.

You could go to a country club or a country bar and do a "long island ice tea" party...whollllle different feel there huh?

A mint julip sundress by the pool party.

Or...you could go get a few of those "celestial seasonings" teas. Get a mixed box. When you invite each guest send along one tea bag... ask the guest to "theme" her gift to the bride to be using the tea bag.

for example:

sleepy time tea - could be lingerie, sheets, pillow cases, mood music...etc.

Cranberry Apple zinger: could be something red, could be something that *zings* (keepin it clean for the kiddies here), could be something from new england where the cranberry bogs are...etc.

Tangerine Orange Zinger: something orange? something zingy, something tart or tart-y?

Country peach passion: something country, something to DO in the country (winery tour? wine? balloon ride? hay ride certificate?) something peach? something passionate (food, lingerie, something the couple has a passion for (photography? snorkling?)

and so on...
