Elegant Tea Party

Connie Said:

Can you please help me with my Tea Party?

We Answered:

An assortment of teas - fruit, flower, green and black instead of plain tea would be good. It would also be nice to have lemon wedges, honey, sugar cubes and milk to go with the tea. Instead of the traditional cucumber sandwiches, you might want to try to turkey, chicken or tuna wraps and cut them into rounds. You could use mini bagels and top them with jam and/or cream cheese, meat and cheese or anything else you like. You could toast the mini bagels and sprinkle them with olive oil and top them with fresh veggies and herbs. Individual desserts are a big part of a tea party. Scones, fruit tarts, small cakes and other assorted mini pastries would be good. If you and your friends like chocolate, you could make your own truffles or chocolate covered strawberries/cherries. For a modern twist, you could do a cupcake tower!
Thinking games would be a good - charades, guesstures scatergories. You could do a scavenger hunt. This could be done inside and/or outside. You could make jewelry and exchange it with one another.
Don't over think the party. It is important to serve what you and your friends will actually eat, and you should do what you and your friends will be comfortable doing and will actually enjoy. Just have fun!

Roger Said:

I am decorating a table for an afternoon tea party...It is not a formal event but I want it to be elegant...?

Hey there! I'm a wedding planner and i just came up with this idea and maybe you could use it. I'd add another color to set off your pink- maybe a chocolate brown or a black- things show up better when there is something dark behind it- get brown table cloths pink table runners- even a patterend pink- polka dot or stripe- and for placemats get piecs of plexi glass cut in squares- or find glass square plates- put pink flower petls under the plexi glass - they will show through and create a very original idea- also if you do centerpieces-lighting is huge- make the piece tall so people can see each other when they are talking- or low. I'd suggest frsh flowers in 4 squares vases- and tie a pink and brown wide ribbon around the vases to make them look like one- very cool affect. I hope this helps!

Has any one had or been to a Champagne Tea Party wedding reception?

We Answered:

i think its a great idea for a tight budget my suggestion would be work out the timing.. plan a late ceremony and later reception to ensure people have the opportunity to go somewhere to eat dinner perhaps try a evening or startlight/moonlight ceremony follwed by the reception this will ensure people understand it is not a dinner reception.
