The tea party started as grass roots. I saw house wives on TV not long after 0bama was in office. They were in parks carrying signs with limited TV air time. They were denied dumping the tea into the river, so the brought tarps to sprinkle on the ground and the cops said no. So, they just carried their signs and tea bags and that was that.

As with all grass roots destined to be a big voice... They grew that way. all over the nation. All not connecting to each other. It was just all confused and done by who ever would want a rally in the city park or where ever.

Glenn and Sarah took notice. With their involvement, it obtained some big money. With that money come persons who are professional organizers... Yes, that is a skill. With that organizational completeness, it went national with a really huge voice.

The people you named are known faces for the tea party, yes. The tea party is one voice with very limited goals. If the goals got more complicated, then internal bickering would happen. Right now the limited goals is an asset for the tea party. You can have a lot of people on a band wagon supporting the right to breath air... But add a few qualifiers to that like everyone on the band wagon who wants the right to uphold the breathing of air... AND... the right to own dynamite (something I pulled out of the air)... well straightway, a division would arise and two groups would be formed.

so, the people are faces of recognition, and with that they do represent the tea party as a poster child. They are speakers. The people in the tea party want a better government by means of the vote.

I do not waste my time watching or listening to Hannity, so I cannot speak to anything that hannity may or may not have said.

However with respect to the TEA Party people I do know a number of people in the TEA Party.

The people in the TEA Party make the point that our Federal Spending is reckless, irresponsible and out of control

At the current rate of Federal Spending The United States of America will go bankrupt in the next 10 or 20 years.

The TEA party people say we need a balanced Federal budget now.

Also, I find it interesting to note that the TEA party people that I know blame the reckless irresponsible spending of George Bush as much as they blame the reckless, irresponsible spending of Obama.

I am a long time (over 40 years) Liberal member of the Democratic Party, yet I must say that I agree with the TEA party people on the issue of reckless, irresponsible, out of control Federal spending.
