Ideas For Kitchen Tea Parties

Tyrone Said:

ideas for bachelorette parties, please??

We Answered:

I am maid of honor for my friend, and we just had her party last week. What I did is I planned a scavenger hunt at a popular tourist location in our city, TONS of fun, and everyone gets involved and gets to act silly. We split into 2 groups and and example of something on our list to bring back was a video of someone "busting a move" or a group photo with someone wearing a business suit, ect ect. Then we had a nice dinner and then we went to a local comedy club for some laughs, and then went dancing. Best night ever! And the bride to be LOVED it.

Fun, Unique Bridal Shower Themes?

We Answered:

For a Jazzy party you could make it like a 1920's theme and everyone could wear flapper dresses. You could decorate with old black and white prints and create really long fringe to hang every where.

For an Action Movie themed party, you could decorate with hot action heros like Bruce Willis and Tom Cruise. Everyone could come dressed as different action stars. Someone could be John McClane, The Terminator, James Bond, Ethan Hunt, etc...and they could act in character the whole party.

For a party with dogs, you could invite everyone to bring their dogs with them. For favors you could give out cute dog collars. You could have petti fours made with cute little puppies on them. You could have it something that says "Some people say that marriage can be RUFF, but I'm positive that the two of you will make it look like a walk in the park."

parents please answer: Toddler Kitchen Good Idea or no?

We Answered:

This is the kitchen I have for my daughter: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp… The Fisher Price Grow with Me Kitchen. She got it around a year old (I only paid $50, not $75 like the website says). It is short and in a "toddler mode" then it raises up to be much taller and in a "preschooler mode." It has lots of great activities for a toddler or a preschool and it looks cute and doesn't take up much space. She likes it.

Definately get a little table and chairs, just make sure the chairs are really sturdy. Anything by Step2 is good. She'll be sitting there all the time soon enough! My daughter colors at her table, plays with toys, climbs on the table (not good, lol), has a snack there... its her own personal space and she enjoys it since she's not allowed to mess with the stuff on my desk. Go for it, by all means. She'll love it!

Chocolate-Dipped Shortbread Logs

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup ground almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional
4 ounces semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup chopped blanched almonds

PREPARATION:
A food processor makes beating easy.
Beat 1/2 cup butter with flour, cornstarch, sugar, ground almonds, and vanilla. When dough begins to clump, take it up and shape into a cylinder. Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Pinch and press each portion into a 12- to 14-inch rope, about 1/2 to 3/4 inches in diameter. Gently roll on a smooth surface to smooth out wrinkles and cracks. Cut each rope into 2-inch lengths and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until just golden on bottoms. Cool on wire racks.
In a double boiler over hot water, combine semisweet chocolate with 2 tablespoons butter. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and well blended. Dip half of each cookie into the chocolate, then dip into chopped almonds. Place on wire rack over waxed paper for drips. Let cool until chocolate is set.

Inexpensive Christmas gifts for two 7 year old girls?

We Answered:

I have a 4yr old step daughter and me and my husband are in the same boat. She likes cars. They are only about $3 each at our warehouse and she is happy with that. We are buying a fish tank, just a small one and a gold fish for her christmas this year.

Since your daughter dont like toys, what about craft items like paint or even a sticker book collection. bath salts and body wash. clothing.

Hope this helps

Can you have a lingerie-and-kitchen shower?

We Answered:

You can have any kind of shower you want.

If you have a bed and bath shower, you'll get a ton of linens and such and hardly any lingerie or bath products (gels, candles, etc).

I think the barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen shower theme is cute. Be specific on the invite as to what is going on. I think it was at Blissweddings.com in their bridal shower tips section, they had a similar theme where guests bring a lingerie type gift and something for the kitchen.

An afternoon tea theme is cute as well but it doesn't really fit with the lingerie theme. You could have the afternoon tea theme at one shower and the lingerie shower as part of your bachelorette party festivities.
