Kids Birthday Tea Party

April Said:

Ideas for 7 yr old girl bday party...?

We Answered:

Well I just gave my Daughter's 7th Birthday party and even though it was really small only 3girls you can do the same with a larger group. She wanted a Spring Theme with flowers.

I hit the dollar store for most of the stuff- they had a ton of flower themed items.

I decorated the table with pink table cloth, and took the green easter grass and put it all over the table along with pastel M&M's and hershey kisses and spread those out and then took the flowers off the stems of artificial pink and lavender colored daisy flower and spread those out on the table.

In the middle of the table I had on my cupcake tier cupcakes undecorated baked up and ready to go and decorated the stand with flowers. I had little containers of all kinds of sprinkles and candies for them to do their cupcakes.

I filled baskets with sidewalk chalk, bubbles, icecream certificates, pinwheels, flower seeds, candy.

We painted clay pots and potted flowers, we also painted wooden birdhouses, decorated out flip flops with artificial flowers, they made beaded necklaces, went on a scavenger hunt and played musical chairs.

I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cut them into flower shapes, had a mix of goldfish, pretzels, crackers. We had lemonade and flower shaped ice cubes. I had a pasta salad and fruit salad for the adults. Oh and string cheese for the girls since they love it.

What's up with parents?

We Answered:

Parents are so busy with work and kids activities i have stopped planning things on saturday bd's and other kid outting. Schools do not encourage parent involvement it is mostly used for child care...but i have experienced what you have many times and then just focused on my own children and a couple of good parents. Also other cultures don't value what we do or understand why we do it so they just send their kid to school....relax and pull back a little find a couple of parents that can help you make a difference but don't put a lot of time into it...i wonder if parents would send kids to school if they had to be involved at least 5 hours a week....on campus

Toddler birthday party...How does this sound? Any Ideas to improve...?

We Answered:

Have plenty of food for the parents to snack on. If you are expecting the dads to come....give them a room with a tv, a cooler of soda and beer and some snacks. Sounds like you have everything taken care of . Maybe take pics of each girl standing next to your daughter in front of the castle. Use those pics as your thankyou cards!

Is this too much for a 2 year old birthday party?

We Answered:

My mom does parties for children and believe me, this isn't TOO much. I mean, she did a party for a 2 year-old and her parents rented a a huge expensive chocolate fountain, they invited actors dressed up as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, two clowns and they put huge helium-filled baloons all over the place. It was REALLY expensive.
