The tea party is simply nothing more than a grass roots movement of ordinary americans who are sick of the republican and democratic establishment who have run our country a muck. There principles are simplistic in nature they want our government to uphold our constitution and by pass it for special interest, to force government to stop spending money and become physically responsible (even if it means cutting some social programs god forbid to and start balancing our budget) and of course to vote out any politician (rep or dem) who tends to vote progressively or liberal and put a stop to this socialist mentality. Now what is a joke is these liberal idiots who have explained to you they receive there funding from "big corporations"... that would be more like the democrats. For example, Harry reid and sharon angle have both raised about 4 million dollars for their respective campaigns. Harry reid received most of his contributions from corporations and the average donation was like 5k and went as high as 500k while sharon angle on the other hand received most of her contributions from hand sent letters through the post office and her average contribution reported was 75 dollars. So take that for face value and decide for yourself whether the tea party is in bed with corporations or is it the democrats and republicans who pay attention to "special interest." People are confused to say tea party followers are republican because some of them have signed the contract for america to gain the support of the tea party. Most tea party activist have vowed they would turn on these republicans and any other politician who continues to take our country down what they consider the path of self destruction.

Absolutely, however I am of the opinion that the TEA party is taking over the GOP , ridding it of RINOS , much like the socialist progressives have done to the DNC

Unfortunately No. Any attempt by them would hurt the rep and give the election to the Dems. You do remember Ross. Perot? He got about 19% of the Presidential vote. this did show that there are a large number of very dissatisfied voters that are not being heard in DC. And that the 40% of yellow dog Democrats will never think but just look for the D when in the voting booth.
Yes Clinton's landslide was all of 43% of the general population.
Bush Sr got 37% and Perot 19%. Had it not been for Perot we would not be in the situation we are in today!

Obviously the people in this "movement" have associated themselves with terrorists--look at the recent arrests, and the man who flew a plane into a building in Texas--and they care nothing about the health and well being of Americans. Their opposition to healthcare reform is political theater, not rational argument. The Republicans will have a hard time explaining why they opposed covering the health insurance of children, seniors, and families.
