Pearls and ruffles should work for you, but try something dainty like sterling silver or white gold. The dress is already saying something, just please no white shoes. Most people attended the evening tea parties.

And if you work at Wal Mart, you might easily work evenings so you can only attend the noon-time parties. Or you might work week ends so your days off are in the week days. Maybe even on a Wednesday April 5th.

And some people are retired or homemakers, like my boyfriend (semi-retired) and myself (homemaker)

I think you should wear those shoes and tights, a high waisted skirt, and a white or pale pink shirt with frills or bows on, and loads of pearl necklaces at different lengths.

And honey honestly without a sewing machine you won't be able to get the full effect. I mean you could go to forever 21 and find a dress with the same colors and same length but it won't be as stunning. You just need to bite the bullet and get the costume

You could decorate hats. Yes really. You can purchase small hats meant for dolls at the hobby store and your guests can glue things like feathers, rhinestones, and ribbon to them. Attatch them to a length of elastic or a hair clip and you have your very own tiny top hat. You could also just have everyone bring a hat to the party and decorate from there.

Hair clips, ribbon, and lace can all be used to make barettes if everyone attending could wear them. Silk flowers would give you the option of making corsages as well.

If not hats or hairgoods, you could all decorate tea cookies with icing and various candies.

There are tutorials online for making lipsticks. Some of them include using crayons which gives you some interesting color options (think purple, blue, green, how tempting). Doing this involves getting small containers, various types of wax and a microwave or double boiler. But it doesnt look terribly difficult for a small tea party to manage.

If you have a printer that can produce nice photos and a digital camera, you could take pictures of all the guests, print them, and have everyone do a scrapbook page of the party.

You may want to prod sites like www.Instructables.com for more ideas. Just about any party craft could match your theme with the right colors, some glitter, or some lace thrown in. Good Luck!
