We Answered:

I think it is pinky up? My English grand mum and her gal pals used to have noon tea with crumpets and scones. I used to leave cause I could not stand all the old lady gossip and smell of Ben Gay.

Traditional Formal Tea Party Etiquette and Dress?

We Answered:

Gloves and hats are still acceptable for tea parties, that is perfectly fine. Is this an outdoor or indoor tea party? If it is outdoor I would wear the hat and gloves but indoors I may not. What form of dress does your invitation request? Talk about the area you live in or maybe what program you completed in college. Read the newspaper during the week of the party to get familiar with current events. Watch MSNBC and CNN also. If it gets silent ask people what plans they have for the upcoming week as far as what plays they are going to see or museums they will visit. Do not forget to remember names. That is so important.

What music would one play at a formal tea party?

We Answered:

Baroque, string quartet, classical guitar, cello music--something classical but without the whole orchestra. You don't want the music to be interfering or distracting, it should be just a soft pleasant background melody.
