She may be a bit young for Nancy Drew PC games, but they are excellent and if she is intelligent as you say, she will soon grow into them.

I think the most entertaining games for kids that age are ones that everyone can be involved, and there's a prize for whoever wins.

Make sure the final hoo-ray is your child opening all of his presents, though. You dont want him being jealous of all the gifts given to other people :)

And they dont have to be expensive, even a pack of candy is enough.

Serve whatever you'd like. Although my son did attend a party where they had carrot cake and I guess none of the kids liked it.

My oldest is severely lactose intolerant and can't have any dairy, so at his birthday parties we always do popsicles instead of cake. Are we weird? Maybe, but it works for us!
