Tea Party Ideas For Adults

Chad Said:

15th Birthday Party ideas?

We Answered:

I think you should have one at your house, its cheaper and you can make it look fantastic with decorations, but if you really dont want too do that, hire out a hall somewhere small like at a bowling club. It would only cost around $50-$100. Then you can rent some stobe lights and stuff, get some yummy food, and music. Come up with a them like 'Fantasy 15' and make everything magical, and elegant. Or 'Fourties 15' and everyone has too show up in 40's clothing, and you can play artists like christina aguilera, and sing some old hits on the karaoke.

Damn i wanna come now :P Good luck, I didnt get a birthday party for my 15th (last month) and this is what I would have done,

Things to make in advance of a mad hatters tea party!!? Any ideas!?

We Answered:

Cookies cut in the shape of hats! Decorate w/ royal icing 2-3 days prior.

Finger sandwiches w/ deli turkey, ham, roast beef, and/or cheddar or swiss chz can be frozen. Make sammies, butter each slice of bread, then a dab of mayo, then meat/chz, then buttered bread again. Cut off crusts. Stack into a damp paper towel-lined tupperware thing w/ damp towels in-between layers. Thaw ion serving platter!

Scones can be made ahead. I prefer to cut the dough into shapes, and freeze that. Then all you ahve to do is bake them from frozen dough. They do wonderfully and will taste fresher than trying to thaw baked scones.

Lemon Curd can be made a week ahead and sit in the fridge in an airtight container.

Petit fours can be frozen, even when decorated.

do you have Queen/Princess party idea for adults? This is for a friend at work...?

We Answered:

What a nice idea! Some of these ideas may not be appropriate for work, but I wasn't sure exactly what you're doing.

Serve anything with chocolate, or her favorite dessert or snack she doesn't have very often.

Give her a facial or do her hair.

Get her a good book to read and a bath set - bubble bath, bath poof, lotion, etc.

If she has kids pick them up from school for the day so she doesn't have to.

Make dinner for the family.

Girls' afternoon! Go see a movie.

Wash and detail her car.

Flowers are always nice.

A nice bottle of wine might be appreciated.

Queen/princess favors for everyone who attends - the dollar store usually has something princess-like.

Have everyone sign a solid colored mat, the type used for pictures. Take a group picture, put it in the mat, and give it to her as a souvenier. This can also be framed.

You could also make a small mini-scrapbook or scrapbooking page and use stickers to put crowns on people's heads, etc. Decorate the mini-scrapbook with glitter, jewels, etc., fit for a queen.

Name the snacks after her: Princess Peggy's Potato Chips or Queen Gloria's Glorious Chocolate Cake. Silly things.

We had a friend who needed a pick me up, so we got her some inexpensive gag gift type things from an adult store. They made her laugh and feel better about her situation. They also provided some great blackmail pictures and laughs. Depending on how open you and your friends are, and where this is going to be, this could be fun! I love the drag queen idea the other answerer mentioned!

Have a great time at your party!
