Because we were invaded by GOP heads and radio personalities; we're no longer the party of the every-day person. We're pretty much just the Republican party under a fancy new wrapper.

because some of them realise the hypocrisy of ideologically demanding "less government" while at the same time wanting government regulation to stop gay marriage, abortion, illegal immigration and the other social issues that a significant number tea party members have a very conservative, "let's restrict it" view on.

government does more than spend money, so less government would have to onclude less restrictions on social issues
